I just pull the hose off the v-drive, and hook up my garden hose. I connected a garden hose adapter to a 1' piece of clear 1-1/4" tubing from Home Depot. This way I can turn it off and on in the boat and don't have to worry about the plunger falling off.
Thanks for all the replies guys! I ended up making one myself total cost for plunger, hose adapter, and silicone adhesive was 6$ at home depot. Glad I asked on here otherwise would of ended up spending the 50$ for the 'real' fake a lake which is exactly what I ended up making myself.
Lets see I have an $80,000 dollar boat and I want to flush the engine? What is the cheapest way I can do that? $5 bucks at home depot. I am a sucker and have the built in flush system - it cost me $150.00 - but - I never have to crawl under the boat to set up and remove and I never have to worry about it popping off, never have to worry about it falling apart.
Inboards didn't always cost 80k, but they always had the same raw water cooling pickups on the bottom of the boat. No need to re-invent the wheel just because the car got more expensive. It's definitly more convienient to add a hose hook-up than to crawl under the boat and put a plunger or fake-a-lake brand plunger on the bottom but for the 1-2 times a year I need it, it works.

AND it's fewer components in your engine's cooling system. In general, more components = more things to fail.
I use the "plunger" two times a year, never had "the plunger" fall off and apparently I am cheap because I see no reason to spend an additional $145 for something I do not need. I also do not mind crawling under my boat to check the Hull, Rudder, Prop speedometer and running gear. And I also have no problem with folks that don't mind spending money on improvements or options or do not like crawling under their boat.

I just bought a 2011 RZ2, what hose do you pull off. It looks like the water inlet goes to transmission first than to cooler to water pump. I'm not sure where to disconnect hose on engine. Any pics?
I've made some mods and now I'm proud to say it's really come together. We've got the hose quick connect now, plus the no slip wood handle cut to size. It also is length adjustable with the quick turn of the handle.
I'll be selling these for $99 colour matched to any black boat. Free shipping anywhere on my street.

Nicely Done! I think if you advertise as "Marine Grade" you mark them up another $50
