ADVICE on 2004 Tige Switch I 20 ft

So...... our family has been looking for a good entry level boat that wont break the bank. Ran across this boat w/ less than 100 hours on it for 18 k. Any pros and cons?????? Would be using it mostly to wakeboard. Any info would be greatly appreciated Kevin

That's a hell if a price on that boat as I sold my 01 for 17k last year. They are excellent boats for slalom skiing and a pretty decent boat for boarding, but a better ski boat overall.
Pros: will fit in most garages. Throw a ridiculous small wake for skiing and come on plane fast They are easy to maneuver around trailer and throw ppl and coolers overboard when the wheel gets cranked at high speed!!
Cons: while legal for 8ppl 4ppl make this boat seem full they will take on water if not baby sat when slowing or when trying to relax in deep water and all the other idiots spin circles around you
I miss mine as I'm a slalom skier but don't miss the baby sitting factor and the smallness factor of them so I call it a toss up but yes it is a great starter boat for a small family

Fyi: 2004 Switch 20I has the newer hull with more freeboard than the 2001 20I that JLG has experience with. So water over the bow shouldn't be much of a issue. I noticed a big difference going from 2001 21I to 2006 21I.

Check the model specs on this site and it will give you some basic hull details.

my advice. take your family, go on the water and test drive it. see how it behaves fully loaded with all the people you plan on taking each time. Just make sure its the right fit for you family size wise. The wake will be great for ski, not very beefy for wake boarding.
But sounds like a killer price for that make model and year.

That is a great price. I just sold my 2004 switch I last year for 20k. It's a great boat with few frills.
