A camera phone makes a killer scanner when in a pinch. You can also use a pdf printer to then print the photo to a pdf and they likely would never know you used your phone to scan

Now that's thinking! Along those same lines, I can use my wife's incredible Canon camera and lenses for an ultra high resolution original, then Photoshop it to the proper aspect ratio and a reasonable resolution.

      THANK YOU!

Update: Did exactly as described, attached the docs to an email, and sent them off last night. Just got off the phone with Krista - she did receive them, and supposedly I'm scheduled into production for the end of the week with shipment to me by the start of next. This has been a very long, drawn out process but hopefully we're on the downhill side of it now!

Progress! I received my UPS tracking number today. Looks like I'll be installing my Deckadence flooring just in time to put the boat away for the winter. Oh well, something to look forward to next spring!

Latest update: For some unfathomable reason UPS had trouble finding my house for this shipment (same driver, he's been here plenty of times before in the nine years we've owned the place, but whatever!). Took an online chat session and phone calls with two supervisors to work it out. Thankfully the box finally arrived. (And the next day, another UPS box arrived on time.)

The material arrived rolled around a stout cardboard mailing tube, then wrapped entirely in plastic, then stuffed into a large cardboard box. Very well packaged. I carried the 30 pound roll to the boat and started unwrapping and unrolling. The locker pieces - plus an extra that appears to be an accidentially oversized locker piece - came out and then I unrolled the rest onto the floor. Haven't removed the carpet yet, just wanted to give things a try. We are having an unusually warm bonus late summer day today, 89F, so friends are coming over and we'll give it a good test.

The fit is surprisingly good given that I'm an amateur template maker. There are a couple of places that I'll probably trim with scissors, but I'm giving the material a chance to relax in the sun first. It feels good on the feet and looks sharp.

My one minor complaint so far: I wish they had rolled it good side out. I understand rolling the good side in to protect it, but that means the fabric takes a set with the edges wanting to roll "up". Rolling it the other way would tend to make the edges sit "down" better. And since it's wrapped in plastic during shipment, it's not really at risk anyway. Hopefully it will relax as it warms up today.

I'll take some informal photos during the day today and post them.

Awesome WA! FYI don't trim it until you check the fitment with your carpet out.

Great advice, I might have been tempted without you reminding me.

Took the boat out today. 100% positive feedback from nine people on the boat. The Deck Grey color got a touch warm in the near-90F temps but then so did the darker carpet, so no "loss" there.

Who do you contact to buy this? Still giving discounts? Do they save any of the templates or do you have to do a template?

Read the start of this thread - there is contact information there for Paul Riches. And while they do have some templates, you should just presume that you will do one yourself... there is enough variation year-to-year that it's safest to just template YOUR boat.

I read through all the threads, great information. Sorry I got to it late. I was looking at replacing the carpet in my '08 Z1. But now I'm going to pull it up myself, smooth the floor and put down the Deckadence flooring if I can order it. I left Paul 2 messages just waiting now. I do have a question about what to put down on my floor. It is clear fiberglass no gel coat. Also, I have an aluminum lip held by screws for the hatch. Does anyone have any suggestion what I can use to fill the floor and maybe bring it up so that the floor is level with this? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also any other contact for the Deckadence flooring.

I have an email address for Paul, but that is all.

I didn't go with the group buy this year either, but I might now. The dealer quoted me $2300 for the deckadence flooring in my Z1. Suffice it to say, I'll buy direct or even cut my own.

I thought I would have to smooth it out but I found it works just fine over the aluminum brackets. Its fairly thick and forgiving. Basically, all I did was tear up carpet, drop in the Decadence mat. If you really pay attention you can tell its not level there but the carpet wasn't before either.

I LOVE my flooring. I understand why others prefer carpet but I really like the decadence.

That being said, a friend of mine did a DIY Decadence flooring using Miner's Moss. It came out really good!

                          The main differences are:

                          1) It was that it is thinner at 10MM vs 14mm for Decadence.

                          2) He had to add his own anti-slip to the bottom.

                          3) He said the marine goop is pretty nasty stuff from a fumes standpoint when he was seaming it.

I was out in his boat recently and really like how his turned out. So for those who want to try to save some money and spend the extra time to do it, its not a bad option.

Another advice on templating for Decadence or the Miner's Moss, make it larger than you need. The material compresses some so it will fill in every nook and cranny better.

Here is his thread on DYI Flooring with Miner's Moss:

Any chance of getting another group buy of this flooring going again?

                              Thanks

                                I'd be interested.
