what is a good price on a 1235?
I found a website that has it listed for $530.

I think I would hold off a little while, ive been spending money way to fast lately.

537 prop appears to be and inch smaller in diameter and over 15% more pitch than the 1235.

is it unrealistic to ask the dealer to give me credit on a prop trade, I know the larger diameter is more expensive

No, it would not hurt to ask for the dealer to do a prop trade, I would guess it would depend on how often they sell props probably. I would personally just wait a bit try the boat and find out what you think about the performance and go from there. The worst thing that happens is the dealer doesn't want the stock prop sitting on the shelf and they just give you a discount on the 1235...best of both worlds. Never hurts to have a spare, plus when you sell the boat you can put the stock prop back on and keep your 1235 for the next one!

I took the boat out a few weeks ago, loaded up the ballasts and had about 3 people in it. I really felt it needed just a tad more umph out of the hole - so I went ahead and got the 1235 prop. I put it on this weekend, but the weather was terrible and so I couldn't take it out. I'll let you know if it's a huge difference, but from what I'm hearing it is, and anything slightly better than stock - is Better.
