    My new present..

A new present... to myself! to go with a few other mods on our old RZ4.

And a big thanks to JMoore15 for packing it so well before shipping.

Cant wait to get my boat back home to fit this thing on it, then I'm gonna take it off, make a dummy out of plywood and check it for surfing. Then I'm gonna cut and mod the teak deck.

Did wayyyy too many mods this off season, just another case of the zipper effect. Cant wait to hit the water! though we have been in a pretty bad drought and now it's raining again, oh well!

BTW, my old dog appreciates the way Jack wrapped the swimdeck for shipping!

Glad to see it made to CA alright and that your dog approves! Look foward to seeing it on your boat. Enjoy!

Sweet platform! My 24v has a similar platform but without the sweet tige logo. Without cutting it, my wave was clean but there was a little less lip and it was more difficult to get the weight right. If you ran too heavy in the rear or not listed enough, the opposite side of the wave would skim the water surface and turn my wave into a dirty white mess. After mod, never have that problem. I was able to keep the depth (distance from transom but I have a mud flap) but had to make it narrower and cut the corners off like duffys and topazsurfers. Good luck, look forward to seeing how it turns out!

I am pretty happy that I got this one as I was about to hack up my stock fiberglass one, then I was going to make one out of teak when I saw this one is the classifieds.

After I get finished with the current mods which includes a new tower, I will get the new teak platform mounted, I am thinking that I may need to add one piece to fit the back of the RZ4's transom contour and I want to raise it up a little higher.

There is also a big bracket on the bottom side that I am going to replace with some kind of flatter smoother brace. Before cutting it though, I am going to make a mock up out of plywood to see how the cut one will perform vs the stock.
        • Does anyone have any photos of platforms that they have cut/modded?

Oops attached it twice. First time attaching with tapa talk. Duffy has a good before after pic on his mod thread. My platform still needs a good sand and oiling still

Here is a link to Duffy's platform and great pics of his mod. The difference on mine is that I took the angle on the corners from the bracket to where the curve ends (hope that makes sense). I think the stock platform looks better than mine but I noticed an improvement on my wave.
