Horn and 12V outlet won't work

Last week when my buddy pulled the plug to stop filling the fat sac, the 12V adapter fell apart. The piece that goes to the Tsunami pump had the metal tip fall out and get stuck down in the 12V adapter plug. We didn't notice it until I went to plug it back in to drain the sack, and it wouldn't go down in far enough because there was a small piece of metal in there (the tip to the 12V adapter). Since then, my 12V power under the ignition has not worked, nor does my horn, right next to it. The ignition and everything else seems to work fine.

I climbed under there to try and see what was going on, the wires all look solid. Unfortunately, I can't even follow the wiring because it goes up into a huge bundle of wires, and I lose it there.

I suspect that it may have blown a fuse? Where would the fuse be for that, and would that explain it?

    My boat is a 2005 24V.

Hum, let me try. Did you try pressing the circuit breaker on the dash that is labeled "12v" or "Assy". I think that is the name of it. The plug is on a breaker and not a fuse.

If the breakers are the same as my 06 it is right under the dash. Last time out my blower didn't work and the fuse had popped. It was sticking out about a 1/8" farther than the rest and you push it back in to reset.

I tried the breaker. No luck...

          Could the breaker be broke

I need to get a voltmeter to see if I have power there.

          Any other ideas?

Well, as I learned the hard way, in addition to my breakers, there are 2 fuses right by my ignition switch that affect my dash. I'm sure since you're boat is newer, it's going to be different, but that may be a possibility, Lee would know for sure. Also, you may want to check connections near the battery in case there's a fuse there. I know some of my 12v Adapters are connected to the ACC switch, some to the ignition and apparently at least one that's connected directly to the battery.

Isn't there an inline fuse back near the battery?

I'd have to look at see, but I had a similar problem last year. I forgot where my dealer told me the fuse was.

That's what I was thinking...it's near the (port side) battery on my boat.

It doesn't solve your problem- but if you get that Rival system installed, you won't have to mess with 12V adapter or plugs. So, how is the project going?

There are a couple of fuses right by the ignition switch that could supply the power outlet and the horn. I have to be under a dash of a 2003 24v on wednesday and will take a look.

                        Tall,

I had the exact same problem. The fuse under the dash was fine and still not luck, so I just stubbed a wire to another that had power (temp fix until I have time to chase it).

Let me know if you figure it out.

                            I'm horny again!

I mean my horn works again.

I called my dealer in Las Vegas. The guy knows everything. I am incredibly impressed that not only is the man the owner, but he knows everything about these boats.

It was so easy, I feel stupid.

If you follow the power wire from the horn and 12V outlet, it goes into a small black plastic housing. I did not recognize it for what it is - A FUSE HOLDER!!!!! So I open it up and VOILA! there was a busted 20 amp fuse inside. I replaced it and now I have full function of the horn and 12V outlet.
