I LOVED my 2013 Z3 and that was after owning a few Rz series boats and the Z3 became my hands down my favorite thus far. Tomp I agree with Chpthrill in his findings...the Z3 has plenty of interior space, they porpoise like crazy...sure if you don't know what you are doing and go WOT with the taps at 8 or rear ballast full, and as far as them being tippy from side to side...they list some but nothing I would call VERY or unsafe by any means. You will be very happy with your purchase and I hope the dealer offers a full on-water orientation as well as a good buying experience as that is critical in enjoying it!

I would disregard the other dealers claims. The Tige boats are designed with more "trim" in them than the traditional inboard. So like said if you run the TAPS all the way up it will porpoise. But the boat is not designed to be ran like that. The hull is designed to work with the TAPS plate versus other manufacturers who just screw a trim tab to the back of the boat. The Tige hull needs the TAPS plate to run properly because it is designed to use it. Where on other brand boats its just there to help shape the wake. If used properly the boat should never porpoise. I have never had mine unless I do it on purpose(see what I did there..LOL)! As for the tippy I have never heard that at all about the Z3. The R20/ RZR hull can be a little finicky side to side because of the smaller size and narrower beam. But the Z3 is much wider so not an issue. It has the same 102" beam as the LSV so that makes his comment somewhat funny to me. If the Z3 is tippy, so is the LSV.

Dont forget the z3 will make a better surf wake than the bu all day long.
I do find the Z3 to not have as much room inside as some other 23' boats. My 24V is much roomier. Also note that if you sit in a malibu your knees are at your ears. The Tige is much deeper and more comfortable.
You made the right choice.2016 Tige Z3, 2014 Tige Z3

I shopped mb over tige. watertested the mb and coming from a pretty flat hulled supra, the mb really felt "tippy" to me. with all of us sitting on one side(2+dealer), it was somewhat wierd driving it. my first time in the water with the tige did not feel at all like that. some lean, but nothing like the mb.
I will say wakeboarding, the tige is more sensitive to side to side people placement than the supra was. all we do is surf tho and if buying a surfboat, it's a no-brainer
I do echo the interior comments. participating in the polar bear in '12, rag's z3 felt somewhat cramped compared with some of the other boats. for the extra foot, the centurion 244 was a floating living room. hands down the biggest disappointment in a wake tho2012 22ve.. RIP 4/17

Hmmmm, ok let's start the riot: I changed from an 08 Centurion lighning C4 to a '13 Tige Z1. IT IS TIPPY FROM SIDE TO SIDE. That is my only complaint thus far, when we hit the "go home" mode or pretty much any time we go over 20mph. I actually make notes on taps/ballast/ people and speed to find the best combo, thus far I'm finding front bags 1/4 full and rears empty with taps at 4/5 to be best but I do still ask the missus to move around to balance the boat.

porpoising, means the bow bobs up and down as you go.. Just trim it with the taps plate. I just bought a Z3 as well. I have not had mine in the water yet. I looked at both the 23lsv and z3. those were my top 2 choices. The malibu does have a much bigger layout. I test drove a z1 and had none of the issues stated. Boat was rock solid, handled great. I went with tige for the surf wave, and fit and finish on the interior was much nicer.

I have not told my local Malibu dealer I bought a Z3 yet. I hope he just congratulates me on my purchase. When I test drove the Malibu I commented to him that the seats are very low in the Malibu and that the Tigé has a much more plush interior. His commit back was wow I have never heard anyone say the Tigé had a nicer interior. My commit back was in your 8 years with Malibu have you ever looked at a Tigé? Lol.
