Ok so in late summer of 2012 I injured both my right and left rotator cuffs. At that time, I had a full tear in my right and a small tear in my left. After trying the injections, I had surgery on my right in September 2013. Did a new MRI on my left and it is now a full tear with the tendon slipping back about 1 inch. Going under the knife next week. Doc said 8 more month of not lifting anything over 1 pound and then I can start to try and build it back up. So basically I am looking at summer of 2015 to play in the water again. My question to all of you, have any of you had something like this and were you able to board again? Or do I need to take up a new sport lake wake surfing?

My brother has had rotator cuff surgery twice in the past. He is still able to wakeboard. I'm sure after physical therapy you will be fine. It may also depend on your age for how fast you recover. I also don't remember my brother going 8 months only lifting a pound or less. Every case is unique though I'm sure.

I now have new body parts. (Thanks to who ever gave them up.) All is better now and no
limitations at all............. (aside from the fact that now I know better and have no more
sick leave......) All is good as new...

I had a labrum torn in Martial arts. Did the surgery with the same recommendation on not lifting heavy for several months. It has now been two years and I am 100 percent. Wakeboard, ride dirtbikes, lift etc...
But, I will say this and can't stress it enough, do every minute of the prescribed rehab. You probably knwo that having been chopped in the past.
