I have a 2012 Esky and it tows my boat no problem. I also towed my buddy's X45 over the pass and it wasn't sluggish at all. The 6.2L is a huge difference from the 5.7L in the 2007 - 2014 Tahoe and Yukon, and the old 6.0L in 2006 and prior Escalades, Denalis, and Hummer H2s. The Denali has the same engine as the Escalade, but for some reason it's tuned down a lil' 380hp or something as opposed to 405hp.

I have a 2015 Escalade ordered, but it still hasn't arrived at the dealer. I have been seeing the new Yukon and Tahoes on the street around here already, but don't know how the 5.3L in those do. The 2015 Denali and Escalade have an even higher performance 6.2L over the 2007 - 2014 ones, so I am sure they will be tow monsters like the previous gen.

Oh and mine is lowered with a 2/3 drop and sits on 26's, but I have auto ride and magnetic ride suspension in my truck. The tranny is also different in the Escalade and Denali over the Tahoe and Yukon

        Patryk me likie.

Have you heard anything about dropping the new escalade or Denali yet. I think I am going for the new Denali and would like to drop again. However this time use a different system versus changing out the springs.

...I looked at going with a newer truck, but wanted to keep the Avalanche and couldn't jump all the way up to the EXT. So I added a supercharger. It pulls like a dream now.... just keep your wallet close. I'd also strongly suggest the Denali/LTZ trim package (or the Caddy) as they have the auto-leveling rear shocks. I've spent a year of my life agonizing over all of this, so if you have any questions, I'm happy to answer...
Yep, and I was one of those that had previously started a similar thread. It is really too bad that GM and Ford don't still produce a large SUV with the new bithen diesels out there.

About a year ago, I was going to buy a new Suburban until I found out that they didn't come with the 6.2L anymore, the Denalis "may" be strong enough to pull our pig RZ4 through the mountains and the price just kept creeping up. I then thought about buying a old PSD Excursion and fix it up, but here in California, they are apparently made of gold - around $30k for a 4x4 Eddie Baur model with around 100k on the odometer.

Then I found a guy that takes your Ford F250 or F350 and converts it over to an Excursion, perfect! I thought until I added up the options and I was now over $100k!!! So I bought another house and lifted my old '01 F250 to hold me over. Still not sure what I am going to do, I think that I will end up with an old Excursion and a new King Ranch truck. The new diesels are SOOO much nicer, I have a few in my fleet with contractors beds and they blow my old pumped up and chipped 7.3L away and they are quiet!

Anyway, good luck and let us know how it works out long term.
