What would be a good prop for the 555hp motor with the pro ballast and wake9 ballast. I still want top end speed since I spent a ton of money to get the HP.

loss of top speed
low WOT RPMs
hi WOT RPMs
slip/cavitation
slow hole shot
poor speed holding
What kind of top speed do you have and what are you looking to get? These engines are built to be pullers not speeders and these hulls may be planing hulls, but not quite made to plane as efficient as an I/O or go-fast hull. No mater the Hp, they will only go so fast.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

His boat is being built right now Chpthrill. Z3James, how fast are you expecting the boat to go? My RZ2 looks fast and people always seem disappointed when I tell them it tops out at 43 mph. I hear the 409 in a RZ2 gets around 47 mph. They are not really built for speed, they are like top fuel tractors that pull big sleds, all about a strong and consistent pull for the skier or boarder.2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

I know the bigger prop loses top end so I figured if I get the bigger motor I can pull off a smaller prop and keep as much of the little top speed these boats have. I know its not going to compete with my buddies cobalt with his 8.1L Volvo motor but I want to be at least faster than my last boat.

I run the 1235 on my z3 with 409 at 2400'. It is to much of a prop I feel. You can not hammer down and revs way to high at cruising speed. Now it has so much torque you do not need to hammer down and you can fill the boat up with as much water and people as you like and it still gets out of the water just fine. I want to try the 537 that is on my 24V. It has the same 6.0 l motor, does not cavitate with 4400 lbs of ballast and able to get out of the water fully loaded with ballast and people.2016 Tige Z3, 2014 Tige Z3

Agreed - as with any Engineering detail, there are tradeoffs. The engine would have to be tilted differently, or the propshaft would have to be lengthened, etc. That said, the existing arrangement on my 24Ve shipped with a 537 yet had room for the 1235. If they designed it for the 1235, perhaps it would have had room for something else. Engineering is all about tradeoffs.
