I would suggest exhausting the port into the main cabin or doing a sealed enclosure. Exhausting into that closed locker kinda negates the increased output benefits of going with a ported enclosure.

Mine was up off of the floor on redwood boards that I coated with the truck bed liner. I have the box sitting in my basement and it's still perfect. Like chpthril said as well, I would recommend porting into the cabin for more volume, only reason I ported it into the locker was because I didn't want to do anything with the helm wall at that time. If you don't want to cut a big hole in the helm wall for a slot vent, leave the box in tact and use a round vent and mount the box up and then cut the hole for vent through the helm wall and into the box. Make sure you take into account how thick that wall is, it's at least 1" thick, if not 1.25".

That would be a ported enclosure, just not a tuned ported enclosure.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

If you designed the enclosure correctly, you could use a PVC Euro port. This would be a tuned port box.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

made up a cardboard model to see what size i could go to. After putting it up off the floor, I will be able to go with a 14.25x14.75 and have it be 24.75" deep. I'm going to do the vented style with the port coming into the boat above the sub. As far as the inside of the box goes, all I should have to is match timmy's interior, should i lengthen the slot port to go a ways back into the sub and then down a little bit, his seems to be taller and wider than what this is going to be(thinner and longer)? And with a 10" circle cut out, i might only be able to get the slot vent to be about 12"x1.25"

Ok, those dimensions using .75" material are going to give you right at 2.3ft3 gross internal. That should work with most 10" or 12" subs in a ported enclosure.
Using a port width and height of 12" x 1.25" will determine the length of the port. In order for the box to actually be a "tuned" box and be tuned ideally, you have to build the port in order to work with the sub.
IMO, I think a port height of 1.25 is going to whistle.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Put the slot port on the 14.75 side, is that what you are figuring? The Kicker Comp-10 has an OD of 10.5. With my tired as math cause ive been at this stereo stuff all day, im getting 3.5" to work with.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Just to be clear, im not saying make the port height 3.5, just stating that you should have about 3.5" from the woofer's edge to where the outer wall of the port will be.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More
