    Window tint ?

    Hey guys,

I have a 2012 z3 as shown here in the pictures. I have been contemplating having the windshield tinted for looks more than anything.

Has anyone had there's done ? Any feedback ?

I have looked for some pictures but haven't found anything and I am worried it may look goofy.

    Any insight is greatly appreciated.

    Travis.

My '05 had them tinted when I bought it - I love the way it it looks. Same colors as your boat as well. The thing I don't like though, is that it is definately harder too see out of...

The wife wants me to pull the tint off because of that reason, but I think I will keep it for now....just looks too good!

I got mine tinted with 35% tint. Really like the looks and the dash doesn't get so hot anymore. Only have problems looking through it if you have polarized lenses on. Highly recommend pulling the windshield off to apply the tint.

Thanks for the input guys. How hard is it to remove this windshield ? That seems like a big job.

I was going to pay someone to install the tint as I know I cannot do it without it looking like **** !

Nice! Like contrast with boat color!!

for sure, I'll pay someone to intall the tint! My friend will do it. He already told me its a big job. Problem with our windshield compare to other. We dont have "plastic" around the windshield. So the tint have to be perfectly cut

All boats look better with them tinted. My tinter pulled the glass out of the windshield to tint it. Its not hard to pull the glass I help do it. You just have to remove the crome top rail and pull the glass out. I know our dealer has them done with out pulling the glass.

Not a good angle but here’s mine with an impending dust storm on the horizon. 35% only costs something like $150ish? Because of the complex curve he had to cut each side in two pieces then butt them together. You can see the line after it cured however a black sharpie marker makes it unnoticeable; if I had to do it again I'd prolly pull the glass out and have it done with ONE SINGLE piece for each side.

I went 35% so it didn't impede vision and it looks amazing... Very happy.
