Overfilling a lubrication system can cause problems due to foaming. It's very bad to overfill engine oil. I don't know if the same is true for these transmissions but there's a "FULL" line for a reason and I would pay attention to it.

Vicseek, do you have the Fram part number?

For some transmissions I hear it could be beneficial to over fill a touch...if it applies to this trans I'm not sure. I don't over fill engine oil tho.

The same is true for transmission fluid. It will foam up from the shearing between the gears in the transmission if the level is too high.

You'd think i would write this down but it's either a TG30 or TG8A...I'm pretty sure it's the Tough Guard 8A.. I have the PCM 343 with externally mounted oil filter. If I remember right it's a GM engine block but a Ford threaded Oil mount hence the Fram8A. Buy both, one will obvisouly fit, return the other

Thank you. I'd bet the PCM filter is no better then the Fram. I can't even remember how much I paid for the PCM either

The filter can be crossed to the FL1A Motorcraft filter. That's what i use. You can get them at walmart.

MityVac makes an air-driven version too. Very appropriate for commercial situations (like dealers and service shops) but for the average guy like me, the manual style does a great job!

Wickedcummins, that is the model I have. Its not worth its weight in scrap IMO. I dont think it has enough suction, plus it uses to much air to do just a little bit of work..constantly running my compressor etc. Have the compressor on for an hour sucks. Im thinking it does not work well since its a HF item, Id bet the name brand one prob work better.

IDK why it took so long for me but I can tell you my compressor was hating life! Oil was warm, drain hose threw hull drain...

                          Are you on Cummins forum?

I've always used a motor craft FL1A on my PCM. You can get them at Walmart.
