    New to Tige

A couple years back I decided I wanted to get back out on the lake. In 2007 I bought a Kawasaki 250x supercharged jet ski with 250hp. When I went to buy a boat I ended up getting a 2012 Yamaha Ar210 because of being use to having a jet. The twin jets on the 21' Yamaha were great for docking and fun doing 180s but my buddy introduced me to wake surfing and I quickly out grew my washed out surf wave on my boat. My interest in Tige started out by surfing behind my buddies r20, I was hooked. Did some research over the winter and surfed the 23lsv Malibu with surf gate and a 450hp motor. I put some of my own sacks in the boat when I test drove it and felt like I needed more power. I did not like how the seat was so low and the dash was so tall. I started looking at the G23, but I surf more than I wakeboard so I ruled it and the ASR out. I just kept coming back to the Z3, the interior is finished so well and the dash and seat are great for me being 5'7" and seeing over the dash. I ended up ordering a 2014 Z3 with the 555hp motor convex vx and most of all the options available including wake 9 sacks and a custom stereo (4 rev 10s, two extra speakers in the boat, W6 12" sub and 4 amps. Here are a couple pictures of my old boat and the mini wave plus the build on the new boat. Tige starts building it march 20 and will send me pictures well they build it. I picked Seahawks colors because I like on lake WA and love the team. I am going to have a white 12 for the 12th man put on each side of the bow to tie the white stripes in.

Have to toss in a Sea fair picture.

Welcome to the discussion board. A few random comments:

I think the girl on the right has no top on.

Even a guy who is 5'7" notices that the seats are short on a Malibu. I have a custom made riser for the driver's seat because at 6'9", I didn't feel comfortable looking over the dash on my Malibu 247.

I'm surprised that the 450Hp engine seemed sluggish on the Malibu, especially at sea level. I would suspect dealer failure to set the boat up properly. ?wrong prop?

You have proved that you can actually surf behind a jet boat, albeit there are some serious limitations.
      Be excellent to one another.

She has pasties on you just can see from behind. Lots of girls at seafair do that, its a big weekend party on the lake in WA once a year in August.

The Tige with out the booster feels like it is taller than the Malibu with the booster up. Coming from the Yamaha with lots of free board I wanted something that the interior felt deeper.

I thought of doing a high altitude prop on the Z3 and doing the 450hp motor but I like top end also so I did the 550hp so I could have the pulling power and the top end.

Getting an ok wave on a Yamaha requires lots of ballast and the boat being almost unsafe because of listing so hard. The push is still weak so the only way to do 360s is to keep the rope for when you start to fall out of the pocket.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new boat! I have to say I dig your old Yamaha as well... that's a slick looking jet drive. You'll love your Z3. I obviously own an RZR but I've been in several Z3's and they are a great boat!

That looks good, I almost did a white hull but I don't beach my boats much so I went with a colored hull.

Seems to be a getting to be a pretty common color combo. Should be an easy sell for me in August!!! Here's my 2014 RZR before leaving the factory.

I liked the white tower, so I used white for the hull to help tie in the colors.

                          Z3James - Nice boat.
But to be honest all I really want to do is come out and party with you during seafair. Looks really boring...
