Just wondering how many people you have had on your boat? And which model do you have? May sound like a weird question, but I can't seem to ever have less than 6 people when we go out, and most of the time have upwards to 8-14 people with kids. Hopefully the Z3 will be comfy enough for everyone. Haven't gotten it in the water yet. Looking forward to it.

I hate large groups on my boat...98 2200v. We have gone up to 12 4(4 Adults and 8 kids) but it really isn't that much fun. I think a lot has to do with what you use your boat for. If you are a put the boat in and drive to a party cove kind of boater then I think the more the merrier. If you take the boat out to get pulls then anything over 4 gets old at an exponential rate. I like 4 cause that gets me a driver, a photographer, a weight redistributor and a rider.
The best setup is a beach or a lake house where you can leave folks on shore and do the pulls back and forth in front of the beach or house. If there is not a beach or house then I try to keep the crew 6 or less and usually end up doing lots of doubles behind the boat in order to keep things interesting for everyone.

We had 10 on our RZR last year and it was pretty cozy. The boats will safely hold the number on the plate, but like said above it gets crowded and kind of takes the fun out of it. If you are consistently putting 10 or more in your boat its gonna be tight. I know with mine if you have people in the bow it takes a lot more focus for the driver. Because it makes it harder to see and increases the chance of dunking the bow(especially in surf size waves). I personally hate having people in my bow. I would't want to put 14 in a Z3 for any more than a ride around the lake. No way for an afternoon or full day. For sure no way if you plan on riding. Maybe your group is used to the juggling and walking all over each other as riders switch, but it would drive me nuts.

We have a place on Lake Tippecanoe in Indiana. Going with the normal logic that there is a "Home Base" one would think that we'd never have more than 6 people... We always have 8-12 people on the boat crankin tunes and enjoying the day. If the kids are having fun, then I am having fun. The adults just kick back, have a cold one and watch the wakeboarding/tubing/surf action. If anyone wants out, we swing by the house and they jump out…
When does this Winter season end? Reminds me, I need to start working on my playlist for the boat.

We've had 16+ on the 24Ve while surfing. VERY cozy but it's during family reunions so everyone knows everyone else, kids crawl all over the adults, etc. Not the most comfortable but the social fun more than makes up for it.

RZ2 here. If we have a surf-heavy crew, then 6-8 is a blast. Surfing is inherently more social. Rider is close enough to joke around with. Speeds are slower, engine noise lower.
For wakeboarding, more than 4-5 is a pain.
Really, it all comes down to the crew. There are a handful of regulars that make everything work smoothly when they are along (they are like a -2 person factor). Others seem like they take more than they give (emotionally) and are more like +2 person factors.
EDIT-- I moved to a mushroom anchor that I could quickly pitch over and get back in. With a toddler, we take ALOT more mini breaks during the day, usually when switching riders. People like a nice 15 min swim and are used to my "ok, back in the boat, let's ride". With frequent breaks like that, you can have a few more people (so long as you train them properly to get in the damn boatLast edited by Duncan; 03-10-2014, 04:29 PM.

Depends on the crew. If everybody is ready to shred and strapping in while the other is getting out of the water the boat barely stops before another run. Ive ran with 8 adults and 4 kids. Comfy but a few people definatly have to ride in the bow in the sun
My pet pieve is people not having common sense when watching the rope, gettin in the way of the swing racks, and not being aware the boarder is READY TO GO! lol.. Sometimes it's soo nice to go out with some people simply serious about getting thier shred on.
My RZ2 says 15people max...I only have 12 adult lifejackets for a reason2010 Tige RZ2 "Fully Loaded" 650hrs
