Anyone know where "Air Temp" is sensed?

Engine temperature obviously comes from a sensor on the engine. Water temperature comes from the AirMar sensor through the hull. But where is ambient air temperature sensed? I doubt it's an engine sensor since the engine compartment gets substantially hotter than the outside air. Anyone know?

That's what I thought, but was hoping someone could narrow it down a bit more. I suspect it's in the "Medallion box", i.e. something that comes from Medallion and not something provided by Tige. But to provide an accurate ambient temperature reading it should not be fully enclosed in a sealed box like that.

They used to just wire tie them to the harness under the helm or screw them down. They used to be about the size of a half dollar.

Mines zip tied in with my wiring harness, it was burried in there good.

My boat's in storage so I'm working from memory, but I wonder if what I have always thought was the beeper is actually this sensor. It was round and "about the size of a half dollar" sounds about right.

I was under may dash today and on my 11 22ve it is zip tied to the harness above the steering cable.

The scary part is that we read well above 110 many days during the summer. If the sensor is under the helm in the nice shade I wonder what the actual temp is.
