So my TAPs gauge on my 22V seems to be a little off. It starts on 8 every time like it should with the plate all of the way up but the entire range of the gauge is in the first 1/3 of the stroke of the actuator. In other words as I start to put the plate down the gauge will go all the way to slalom but the position of the plate is probably only about 1/3 of the way down. Anybody seen this before? Any way I can calibrate the gauge? This is an electric Lenco setup. I did a search but it seems like most of the time the gauge has just stopped working completely for other people.
Full disclosure I recently took the orange wire to the control module which Lenco confirmed was the correct one and re-wired it to a switch. This was done to give the orange wire constant power from the switch instead of only power when the key was turned on. The reason being that we turn the boat on/off a lot when we are on the water and I got tired of dealing with the auto retract so now it only auto retracts when I turn off the switch instead of when I turn off the key. I don’t know for sure but I think I had the same problem with the gauge before I made this mod so I don’t think it is the root cause but I guess it could be related.
