Second Bilge Pump for my 24V

Looking at places to mount a second bilge pump in my 24v.

My main bilge pump is on the starboard side at the transom up against the exhaust. When leaning for surfing port, a lot of water accumulates before the bilge kicks on. Transom port I think will hit the rudder arm (not confirmed just memory)

    1) Where do you guys recommend the second bilge? (I have read Duncan's great article on how much bilge capacity you should have, I have 2 tsunami's for emergency situations, I have to use one once when my stock bilge pump cracked).

    2) T into what thru hull? I have 5 thru hulls in the rear with 4 of them with vents and drains T'd together (2 drains pumps per sac). I also have a dedicated vent and dedicated drain in the midshipment compartments for my bow ballast. Do you guys recommend T'ing into one of my existing thru hulls? If you T' do you need a check valve? I am not opposed to drilling another dedicated thru hull if thats best.

I have a 24Ve and when I add a second bilge pump it's going as near the keel as I can mount it, in the transmission/v-drive area. This is the low point of the hull, and even when the boat is deballasted and the factory bilge pump has done everything it can I still have inches of water depth there. I don't like having standing water in the bilge as it raises the humidity down there and promotes corrosion. If I were you, I'd look in the area around the transmission and v-drive to install a second bilge pump... and figure it will probably become your PRIMARY bilge pump given how water collects in the Tige Convex V hull.

I agree. That is also the low point in the new models. That is also exactly where Tige installed the second bilge in the 2014's. I would strongly recommend a second independent thru hull for the second pump. You want as much flow as possible in an emergency. You don't want the pumps being restricted because 2 pumps are trying to exit thru one opening.

Thanks guys. Makes sense. I am now thinking I might bang out two birds with one stone. I am thinking it makes sense, to move the fuel vent and put a new hole for that, then try to use the old vent hole for the bilge pump. The vent is directly below the fuel fill cap on mine. Its not under water while surfing, but it does take side hits while surfing. That would also make a pretty short hose run for the bilge pump.

I stuffed 6 fill pumps in the transmission and v-drive area, hope I left room for the bilge pump.
