    ptm samson mirror mount

I just got a ptm mirror and was thinking about getting the samson mirror mount. Im curious how many people are running this set up and if they like it. I only know of 1 person with the mount and he said he didn't care for it because all you can see is the speakers on the right side. I am running 4 rev 10s on the tower so this worries me.

Six weeks ago I bought a full Samson mirror setup for our new to us 12 RZ2 and did not get a chance to open up the box.

A few days later I went to the Portland boat show and the Tige dealer had a RZ2 with the same setup and the problem with the Samson arm was that it was too high and even with the mirror angled as far down as it would go I could not see the top of the back sun pad. I am 6' so my height was not the problem.

The way the arm connects to the tower there is no way to adjust it down so you can only adjust the mirror itself. Maybe that arm did not get the correct bend at the factory? I was not willing to take the chance so I returned it and got the PTM VR-140 Elite with the windshield mount.

I own the samson mirror arm, with the mirror they sell with it. I am 5'11' and have never had a day of problem. love mine. can see everything behind the boat as expected? I bought mine very early on, not sure if they have changed the angle or setup though?

I have the full Samson set up and the speakers on the right side get in the way. My boat is in storage or I would take a picture for you. From what I can remember you cant really see the rider once he starts going out of the wake on that side or even right at the wake. I am only running one set of tower speakers that are mounted hanging down right behind the drivers head. This spring I plan on moving the speakers so they are mounted in the position more to the outside of the boat. I think this will open up the view for what is happening around the wake on that side. It will restrict the view of the rider when they cut out though.

I have an older ('08) RZ4 that I am replacing the (HORRIBLE!!) stock X-treme tower with a Samson Blade. I have ordered the mirror mount that hangs down from the tower but am having second thoughts about it as I think it looks kind of goofy sticking forward off the tower.
            • Is there any reason not to use a windshield mount?

I'm 6' 4" when I drive I like to look above the windshield (also have the windshield tinted) if i mount it above the wind shield it may be in the way.

I have this set up and I would be the one that said all I can see on the starboard side is the Rev 10s. It is AMAZING for the port side though. If it wasn't all wrapped up I would take a picture of what it looks like out of the mirror.

It is getting quite the transformation, and I cant wait to see it done, still need to get a Bimini (big one!) figured out. Need to figure out what to do with the side after I remove the old "Arrow" graphics. Oh well! Problems to have!!

Then we need rain, lots of rain and then I need to learn to weight the boat. Had a hard time at slower speeds last year. At 26 that thing throws a monster wake on the port side, but the driver's side was all washed out.
