    Kansas city boat show asr

    tige asr (2).jpgtige asr.jpg
Here are a couple pics of the KC boat show ASR that performance marine brought. The boat was actually supposed to do another show up in chicago or somewhere up there but due to perfomance marines boat not being built and ready yet they had to borrow in order to have on show. From talking with them it seems that Tige has been overwhelmed with orders for the new ASR. This ASR also has the metallic flake in the paint which is an option and I gotta say that the metallic flakes really sets the blue color off. It looks frickin awesome in other words!! The suggested msrp was around $140k but had a show special of $116k with trailer. I know several ppl have commented on here and questioned Tige's build quality and I was beginning to wonder myself but after seeing the craftsmanship in this boat I have no doubts about what Tige can throw out of their factory. The boat was practically flawless from gel coat to interior. The sound system was exceptional also. So a huge double thumbs up to Tige.
They also had designer danny and pro surfer ashley kidd at the show, which was nice to see and meet the ppl behind these Tige's. The tige booth was ten times better than the competition as far as pro shop merchandise to being able to walk in the boat with the stage setup and not having to sign a credit app to walk throught them! The only question or thought I had was that surfer Ashley had no pictures to sign due to tige dropping the ball on that and if it weren't for me watching videos and knowing who she was we probably would've walked past her. IMO it would be nice if Tige would've taken the time to do an actual booth for signing photos etc for these pro riders as they take time out of their busy schedules to do these events and from what I saw many ppl missed her or walked past due to them not knowing her. (Not ashley kidd's fault) MY 2 girls were able to meet her and is an inspiration for them to see someone so talented that is so down to earth friendly. So thanks to ashley and tige for doing that!!
The one thing I would personally like to see on these boats is a cooler in the rear transom where the surf board is positioned etc as I hate ppl going in and out of my boat to grab drinks!

Cool color combo! What engine was in this one? The LS3 450hp?

yes i love the color also that's why i decided to post online. (only if I could find my winning lottery ticket) I believe it had the 450hp engine as i asked the dealer about options he said there was plenty of power with the 450 so that's what they were pushing. I know there has been a lot of talk on here about these needing the 555 engine but I have a buddy that has a g25 with the 555 in it and he says it is overpowered and a fuel hog as the 555 burns approx 50 gal an hr wide open!! ouch! He wishes he would've went with the smaller engine and would be happier. This particular dealer has several on order and a couple are possibly spoken for.

Is this a typo? 50 gals per hour?

No typo I read that online a few weeks back but couldn't find the source for it, and have also talked to dealers that stated that. The 415hp 6.0L engine at full throttle does 30.75gph. It definitely makes a person think twice about owning the 555hp or at least running it full throttle for very long. Not only do you pay 10k-12k more for the option but take it in the A$$ at the pump

This is the first ASR I've really liked. The gunwales don't look so tall due to the paint scheme.

Yes that is a lot but I don't really think it's that crazy but it may just be me. I know it is not a direct comparison by any means but I've seen a Sea Ray 300SLX with twin 350's (300hpx2) so call it 50 less horsepower at WFO burn 43gph. The Merc 8.2HO 430hp is 38gph or so. The question is how many times does somebody in a wakeboat run their boat WFO? The number that I think matters most is what is the gph at surf, wakeboard, and cruise speed and also the load when figuring the numbers.

Apples to oranges comparison, but I know that there has been discussion on planetnautique that the guys who are running the g23s with the 550s fully slammed are burning high teens per hour wakeboarding.

I've seen those numbers also. Guys saying with the g23 and the Xstar loaded heavy they are burning 15+ gph at wake boarding speeds. But if you can afford a 120K+ boat who cares if it burns $60 an hour. In perspective thats $500 for an 8 hour day.

Gotta say... the metallic flake paint doesn't do it for me. Really cheapens the appearance. It directly reminds me of the "California jetboats" back in the 70's and 80's, the ones with the inboard engines and external Berkeley/Jacuzzi jetdrives that threw up those giant rooster tails and made their male drivers look like they were compensating for something. Those boats seemed like they always used that metallic flake/glitter paint. It looks like you're driving a disco on the lake. I half expect the driver to be wearing a bunch of gold neck chains and sporting a mullet hairdo.

No offense intended to anyone. It's just my opinion but that paint takes a beautiful boat and makes it look cheap and gaudy. Seems popular on here, though, so I'm glad Tige offers it for those who want it. YMMV!

I like the metal flake, but I would be happy with a big skull on the side too, so I am way out in left field. I do understand the dislike for the metalflake, but the small accent is not that gaudy or anything IMHO.
                            Be excellent to one another.

I would like the big skull too! That's a recent "theme". In fact, my skis are K2 Revivals and have a skull theme (even including the base). I chose them for their performance but have always liked their appearance:

Maybe the glitter/flake is meant to attract the "retro" crowd. Nice that they have the option, but I'd never buy it. Wonder if it will hurt resale value.
