Liquid Force Chaser Six reviews or thoughts on…..

personally I own a Phase 5 oogle and I'm happy with it but after trying several boards last year I'm thinking I'd like to purchases something a bit more surfy + having a more stable board in the boat is nice for beginners to learn on (or so I found when I started last year) but I'm not looking at a beginner board and so far in all my searches the Liquid Force Chaser Six (4.8) keeps catching my eye. I seem to gravitate to cutting more than spinning and was wondering if anyone has some feedback if I'm headed into the right direction. It has 4 fins, which to be honest I've read so many reviews on 3 and 4 fins my head is spinning.
The other boards that are on my radar are:
Shred Stixx Ringer or Semi Pro
Ronix Koal

not really interested in any other models as the stores in my area only carry these brands.

I wouldnt even put the Koal in the conversation if you are thinking about the Sixer or a shred stixx.

The Ringer is going to be the easiest to ride out of the three. It has a flatter rocker so it will allow you to cruise with little to no effort. Anyone can ride it.

The Sixer and the Semi Pro have a lot of rocker which makes the boards carve much better. They are extremely responsive rail to rail, can do super deep bottom turns, and transition off the wake great. But due to the increased rocker you can not expect to just stand on cruise on the board for 15 minutes. When cruising, the boards feel sluggish. They are high performance boards and are not designed to just go straight.

The Sixer and Semi Pro are different from each other, but the differences are minute.

just some advise: DO NOT GET THE 2013 SIXER!! Make sure you get a 2014. The shape is way better.

Listen to Mitch...he sells a lot of surfboards! I rode a 2013 sixer and did not like it, you always have to be pumping/working the board and I like to be able to just kick back and cruise sometimes.

so which one would you pick? Or rate them from best to worst. But please let me know if you are a retailer which brands you carry and don't carry. Knowing I like cutting hard and making big swings out and cutting back in. Not looking for a casual straight ride. I usually ride for no more then 5 minutes as I'm always trying something new and pushing what I can do, which usually means quick falls…….although I've only surfed a 20+ days but it was my 1st year owning a lake cabin. Not into spinning but I'm sure I'll give it a go once in a while. I'm 5'10, 185lbs.

Chase Hazen rides for our shop so we are a huge supporter of him and his board, but at the same time I'm a big Shred Stixx fan. The Shred Stixx Semi Pro is my surf style board of choice. The Semi Pro evolved from Chase's Shred Stixx pro model the "Hazen" when he rode for them a couple of years ago. Chase rode for Shred Stixx for at least five years.

Based on how you described your riding, you are PERFECT for a board of this style. You will be happy with either.
One reason I like Shred Stixx is that they use Futures Fins and they are a wakesurf only company. Also, the shape just works for me. Tons of power and great for airs and carves.

thanks for the input! I may even get both, I'm also in the sports business so prices are a lot cheaper for knowing the right people, kinda like 2 for 1. Funny just as i was writing this my 2 big surf sacs for the rear corners from Mikes Liquid Audio showed up for my soon to be delivered RZ2…..everything is falling into place. Can't wait for the maiden surf!

A lot of casual wakesurfers do not like boards like the LF Sixer, the Shred Stixx Semi Pro, Inland Surfer Kennan Pro Surf, or Mendonesia Half Moon because they are not easy to ride. They require a lot of work and are for a certain type of rider.

Boards like the Soulcraft Jetty and Inland Surfer Sweet Spot are very popular because the boards are almost flat in terms of rocker. All you have to do is put weight on your front foot and the rocket forward. Because the boards are flat, there is a lot less drag when you go straight. But when you try to ride them aggressively by carving hard they do not react like a board with more rocker. A board with more rocker flows better through turns, and the nose stays higher through the turn so you dont punch the nose through the top of the wake on an air or bury it in the flats on a bottom turn like what happens on flat boards.

There is a board for everyone. Not everyone is going to like the same board and that is why there is such a huge selection.

I own a carbon sixer ringer, shred stixx chaos and have owned lots of different shred stixx pros or hazens or whatever they were called. The chaos is the best. You can pump it, it's surfy, and still responds to leaning. Like others have said, Chase rides so so much different and his pump is so so strong. I learned to ride somewhat like him and learned to pump to get airs, which works but gets a little tiring. The chaos is much easier, but it's a trade off for pearling or nose diving. The pros are almost impossible for my to pearl. The ringer is even faster with leaning, but you sacrifice pearling. It took me a while to move from my chaos to my ringer, but once I did I had a ton of fun on it. I really like having two very different boards. The ringer is a crowd favorite with the guys, but the chaos is a close 2nd. My airs and riding is best on the chaos. Hope that helps! I might have an old used hazen laying around I would sell. Needs new traction though. What is your height and weight? Where are you located?

I didn't want to come off one sided, I don't have the awesome access to tons of boards like wakemitch. I'm sure there are lots of brands out that work awesome, I have surfed a few but not enough!

Ya Timmy....chases new 14 is a bit faster down the line under me then the 2013...but I want on his comp board. Ive held it, talked with him about it but never been on it. He never seems to bring it out when we do clinic. Maybe this summer.

At the end of the day Chase could compete on a stop sign. Chase is the only one that I know of surfing at 13 mph....I freaked at the show down when he told me to ramp it up for his last pass..the Z3 wave got long, hard and chase boosted bigger then I ever had seen before because of the distance he was able to pump that board...
