    Thread on TAPS Mod?

Ok, this one has me stumped. I've been searching for old threads on mods people did to their TAPS that allowed the plate to push down further (past the factory "0" position). Typically, it involved drilling new holes in the bracket above the factory holes and re-attaching the actuator higher on the bracket.

Can anyone else find that thread or send me pics of that sort of mod?

    Thank you.

I think you can also add a spacer to the TAPS plate, which might be a nicer alternative to reattaching the piston on the transom. In fact, I think my old dealer used to do this routinely on his V-drives.

There is plenty of exucrsion of the plate that it is still easily out of the water at surf and wake speeds if you wanted it to be, but allows it to go a little deeper into the water if you wanted it to.
    Be excellent to one another.

I used a piece of 1" pvc decking as my spacer. Just put it in between the taps plate and the bracket. Just keep in mind when you push your taps plate down farther the boat will handle much different when not weighted and you get bow steer. So keep your hands on the wheel.

Thanks for the replies. I think the spacer does sound easier.
