    Lake Mead 2014

It is that time of year again. Lake Mead reunion 2013 was terrific if you ask me. I think everyone involved had a great time and it was awesome to have some dealer support again. I think we have the time of year pretty well nailed down. The end of September usually brings great weather, it was a fluke that Saturday afternoon brought in some strong winds. Friday we had some unbelievable butter farther up the arm of the lake. I would vote for September 20 or 27. A big thanks again to Bad05 for all the work he did on getting things arranged. This year he may have his hands a little more full, as there is a little Bad05 prototype in his house now. (BTW, congrats on that!).

Temple Bar worked out pretty nicely with hotel rooms for all, and it was far enough away to get away from any crowds but close enough that the dealer still came to show off his new wares.

Thoughts, anyone? Let's get a date nailed down right away.
    Be excellent to one another.

I agree!!! Had tons of fun and can't wait for this year. Our vote is for the 20th as we leave for Powell on the 26th. What say y'all?
Fixing everyone elses boat just so I can use mine...

I would love to make it this year. Long ways from oklahoma, but we now have several tige owners in my area and maybe we could all just take one boat and make it work. Will definitely put some thought into it.

I vote for the 20th. Then it looks like it is decided.

Just kidding, we need to see if the dealer has any druthers, as I think this is the best opportunity for them to get some customers out there and doing a test drive of their boats.

There WILL be water and the 20th seems like a good weekend. I'm sure OffshoreShane will see this in the next day or so and post something in regards to dealer participation. Hopefully we can make some sales and get some new boats. The ASR is a longshot I'm sure, but they are still very optimistic about their Tiges and excited for the event, among others!!

Not sure my wife will support 2 anniversaries in a row at the Tige reunion. The 20th will be hard to swing.

This could be your new yearly celebration, what better than a 5 star resort a mile from the water with your own private meal!

Anyone else have input on the dates?

How do you decontaminate your ballast sacks after boating on lake mead. I've wanted to go there for awhile, but I'm afraid they'll want to pull out all my ballast sacs at the Utah border for inspection.

There is nobody at the border, so no worries there.

The responsible thing to do is remove the sacks and make sure that they are as dry as possible for more than a week to 10 days. Our local lakes demand 17 days of dryness at that time of year, but that is probably defying science. It is only 7 days in the summer. Live mussels are not going to be on your boat or trailer from being in the water for 2 days, but the larvae that you transport are too tiny to see and can be in any water you take with you.

@ JohnZ3 - They are setting up a station to wash the boats with hot water, ballast will be part of the wash. From what I could gather, it shouldn't be that big of a deal except on a major holiday weekend.

Not to sidetrack too much, but this is the only quarantine in the history of the world where one place got infected, and we quarantined all the healthy places and left the infected place alone. At my hospital, when one person gets Tuberculosis, we don't give everyone else masks, and leave the infected one to cough their disease all over the place.

Although I would be willing to bet that my local state parks will not honor any sticker that they give me at Lake Mead certifying that I am clean. There is an inherent distrust for all things Nevada here.

Stepping off the soap box now....
