ok cool thanks guys. I hardly ever use an anchor so I think the small will work fine.

I must be way out of the norm. I buy the $40.00 anchor, anchor chain and rope from Academy. Gets the job done for me.

Add me to the box anchor club. I have the large, which has held my boat and two others tied up to me with no problem on a lake. I found it on Craigslist and paid about $70 for it. I store it under a seat in the bow.

Not sure about shipping costs? I think BakesOnline has free ground shipping and I might have a discount code to reduce the cost some more if you can hang on a few days?

I bought mine a couple of years ago from West Marine and since I am a member was able to use a discount coupon they had sent me. I am not sure if they still carry them or not.

We too have a small (18-30' boats) box anchor and store it in bow section under the dash of our 2014 Z3. Purchased at Overtons.com Free shipping. We normally only use an anchor on July 4th, so haven't even gotten it wet yet. Purchased it along with a slide anchor shore spike and a couple Danik hooks all based on input from this forum. I now feel as though I'm ready to go most anyplace.

Box anchor with anchor buddy bungee line on the back. Sand spike plus bungee dock line up front. This setup keeps the boat aligned and off the sand/gravel. Works great when other boats throw a nice roller your way as well.

Do you know if you buy it from one of the cheaper places (not direct) does it still come with a bag?

According to both sites I posted, Yes.
When it comes time for storage, simply retrieve the anchor, release the stainless steel stabilizing arm, and fold the Box Anchor completely flat to be stored in its complimentary ventilated storage bag.
