What to expect from the surf wave!

So I think I've made a deal to sell my old boat and will be ordering a new Z1 soon and would like some feedback on what to expect from the surf wave. It will have pro ballast system and the dealer is adding the 1100 lbs surf sacs in the rear lockers with convex vx. The wave will be on goofy side 99%.

I demoed a Z1 with just surf ballast. I ride goofy. Wave was clean, but needed more weight. I just got my Z3 in and its freezing up here so wont get to use it till spring. I have ragboys bags sitting and ready to go in mine. Pro ballast plus the 1100 lb bags should work great for you. Or get the Z1 bags from ragboy.

I rode the goofy side at Polar Bear. It was weighted heavy and it was great. The Wood's have it dialed and were great hosts. I think almost everyone would be stoked to ride that boat every weekend.

I have ridden a non-surfgate Axis but it was underweight and had a light crew so any comparison would not be fair.

We have a 2013 Z1 with Pro Ballast and CVX. As I am sure you have seen, the regular side does clean up very nice and easy. We were new to surfing (bought the boat for this reason) and run a pretty small crew, generally our family of 3 + a few additional. When we have had a bigger group out, the additional weight in the corner really helps with "push". Santa bit the bullet for us and delivered Ragboys custom Z1 Sacs. For us, it seems as if more weight was needed on the goofy side to get the wave as clean as the regular side. If you are thinking about adding the VX, stop thinking and just do it. Due to the 2013 bracket issue, we ran ours without the VX for a while and the wave is much cleaner and forms much faster with the addition of the VX.

We are getting the vx for sure, and have ridden a Z1 with pro ballast I just haven't got to ride one with bigger surf bags.

Take a look at rag boys polar bear review. There is a z1 with the bigger bags.
