Lake of the Ozarks Brostock 2014

I know this is a long ways away but in order to get time off etc my wife and I are planning on going to brostock this year and have never been to LOTO so any tips on lodging, areas to go to see the event, dining, party spots would be greatly appreciated!! How kid friendly is the event as we are considering taking our kids as they love the lake?? I see the event is advertised as june 5-7 hopefully this is correct?

We'll be there again this year after taking a hiatus last year for a family reunion. We usually stay at Tan Tar A, which is the same one the riders have always stayed at in the past. There are certain areas that are pretty nice to ride or cruise around on LOTO with kids, but if they're small this area isn't one of them. It can be VERY rough during the day. Overall the event is a lot of fun just watching the riders & people do their thing.

I plan on going this year. I will be 3 hours closer from my current location so I am in. It look like a big party on the water. Wanted to go this past year however other plans were already in place. Hope to see other TO's there.

It all depends on if you want to be close by water to the event. If you do you need to find a private home to rent close to the 34 mile marker. If you don't care how close by water tan tar a is always a good bet. If you get up river, meaning above the 34 mile marker it will be slightly calmer water all weekend. You will still see 50 plus foot cruisers but not as many.

Here are some examples: This one is at the 3mm of the big niangua, so you would have about 6 miles to get to Captain Ron's where Brostock is held by water.

This will be very close by water: http://www.vrbo.com/404203

This home is in a great cove (my inlaws lake home is in this cove) It is about the 41 MM so not far by water to the event. Good clean home. http://www.vrbo.com/184050

I am the new Tige dealer in Kansas and we are considering going again this year. We are considering staying in a rv park that is close to captain ron's.
If any other Tige owners end up going defiantly hits us up. Marine Specialty 275 Hwy 232 Wilson, KS 67490 785-658-3626

Just rented a cabin to the south of the rv park and captain ron's on the water with a dock. Won't be able to see the event from the cabin but will be close enough to crawl back if we drink too much!!
Are there any permits required to launch a boat on the water? Shallow areas to be aware of? How often are there spots to fuel on the lake? Any slalom course setups that can be used by anyone? Does anyone know if they are doing the stereo shootout this year? A lot of question I know but i like to be informed!! thanks for any advice in advance
