This is starting to sound like the ASR thread that got nuked.

I think that Tige wants to compete for the most part head to head with the likes of Nautique, MC and Malibu. Centurion and Supra are moving that direction as well. From my observation, I think they don't want to be known as a less expensive G23 with this boat, I think they want to be directly competitive. It seems clear that the opinion of some members of this forum is that it ain't gonna happen, and I would lump myself in that group. Right now it is all speculation about the price anyway.

I agree what was said above about people selling stuff these days. I have watched a few boats on my local classifieds for a year or more...and they are way overpriced. Some people are just waiting for a sucker to come along. Listing prices and selling prices are two way different things. Half of the boats on OIB are never going to sell. Pull up your favorite year and model and watch them over time. The cheapest ones move, the other 90% stay online forever.
    Be excellent to one another.

Pricing about at an absurd amount does not make you the less expensive G23. Pricing the boat at a price that makes sense will make people Say **** the G buy the Tige its the same if not better and you dont have to get bent over to buy it! People want to pay reasonable prices for things not get screwed. And its the very reason I didnt buy a G23. I am not going to pay half of a house for a boat. Said it before you cant piss on my foot and tell me its raining that it costs that much to build a boat. House has more man house more labor more materials..

If this boat comes in at a price of 110K with 555 and 90% of options its a HIT even though I think 100K with 555 is the more realistic fair market price... IF its priced same as the G23 its a big miss... Because the G boats are over priced stupid amounts and just out of moral Id never give them my money!

What I want to know is:

Which has the better surf wave, the new ASR or a Z3?

May be too soon to tell?

Right now Hands down best surf wave is a Rz2 Then z3 then z1 then rzr then r20 then last the ASR. ASR surfing is possible but needs work for sure

Not sure about that. If so. Tell me why one of the best world champion wakesurf rider , that work with tige used a Z1 instead of a Z3 the year before

z3 and z1 same boat.. Z3 will produce better wake as its a larger boat. Larger boat can and will always produce More water... I dont care what they used. More than one thing goes into why they use certain boats

I don't mean to start a fight, but I'm pretty sure that the consensus is that the Z3 has the best wakesurfing wave with less listing than the RZ2. Not that the RZ2 is bad, just takes extra weight. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I just know the Wake 9 guys use the Z3 for a reason.

And it's good to know that the ASR is not a surf boat because it's out of my price range

Surf waves, like wake-board wakes, can be somewhat subjective to personal preference..........i'll take the Ve/Rz hull any day of the week and no VX needed.

Wake 9 guys use the Z3 for a reason
Id surf a 16ft aluminum jon boat if i was getting one at factory cost or less Factory demo perks do wonders for enthusiasm

Ok, just kidding Robert Wake-9 had an RZ2 until the new Z3 flagship boat was released.

Yes. Ive owned a Ve and so far, the only hulls I havent surfed behind are the new Z1 and the R20/RZR hulls.

Yes they do. If they can build a competitive wake out of an ASR, they would probably do that too. I think they make an awesome wave with the Z3, but wave may not be the number 1 reason.

I think that we both agree that anyone who spends 6 figures on a boat needs a psychological exam...but Nautique has NOT violated simple economic laws, they are selling a lot of G23's. Tige wants the guy with 125K in his pocket to look at both and choose the Tige. Time will tell how that plays out. How is it a big miss if it is priced the same as the G23? People are buying the Nautiques, so why not get a piece of that pie? Keep in mind that I understand that this boat is not for you and me, which means a G is not for you and me, either.

Agreed Id talk all great about a New Z3 if I got it near nothing or free also.. I can tell you right now Ive surfed z3 and not impressed.. My RZ throws the biggest WAKE I have seen or ridden..

I will tell you this the ASR has the NICEST shape of wake I have seen but it needs cleaning and length. If that gets fixed it will be the sickest wakeboard / surf boat on this planet

Give Wake9 some time to get the ASR dialed in, it's only been out for 2 months and it's not like it's warm out in Northern CA where they are located so even if they did have one, they would be pretty cold dialing it in. I think pretty much any of these wakeboard boats will put a decent wave with the ballast setup correctly.
