The only one I can find locally has an MSRP of 67K. I don't know if I live in a car happy area or what, but I ain't never gonna get more than 10K off. I would be surprised if you could get a Denali for mid to upper 40's. Any links?

Do they make one all stripped down with just cloth, etc?

Yeah, finding a low mileage one here in California isn't any piece of cake either.

I stand corrected. You could get the 6.2L in the Tahoe for a couple years (08/09 I think) so I figured it would go across all the T900's.

I actually have a friend who got a 2013 Avalanche with the 6.2L, however that is not a build option. I think GM is tossing extra parts into some of these trucks just to clear out their old stock. Sometimes you can find them with the upgraded transmission or engine, but it is pretty rare.

I have an 11 Avalanche with the 5.3L and live in Denver. I have an RZ2 and I have towed it back and forth to Powell with the 5.3 and it did the job. No you can't do 70mph up the mountain passes with the 5.3 but it gets the job done. Looks like an RZ4 is 335lbs heavier. So you would probably be at the max limit of the 5.3. It will still get the job done IMO. I also have towed my brother's MB Sports 23 TWB over the same mountain passes to and from Powell and the 5.3 did fine.

If it was me though I would just buy a couple year old Denali with the 6.2 I had a denali with the 6.2 and it certainly out towed my 5.3. Just fine one that is GMC certified and it will have a 1 year warranty. You can always spend a little more and get an extended warranty. The air ride suspension might not be heavy duty but it levels out the truck/suv and boat no problem.

As for the 15s I was just hanging out with my buddy who is the GM of a GMC dealership out here Monday night. He said he just put in his orders for the new Denali HD Diesels and that he will get them in March and they will be 15 models. So I would say you can pick up a new 15 burban or whatever by the beginning of boating season. So either buy a couple year old Denali/Escalade with the 6.2 or wait 6 months and pick up a 15.

So, GM is going to put the diesel back in the Denalis??? That would be perfect, except the price has to start going north of $70k!!

I think he is referring to the Sierra Denali. (although I would love to be corrected)

I dont have any links - but I can tell you from experience that you should be able to get a new, current generation for $47-48K with all of the incentives coming off a sticker in the mid 60's.

I am now looking at 2005 Excursion with the 6.0h NO! motor, that I will need to dump $5k to $6k into to correct the EGR & head bolts issue.

My Tahoe LT gets the job done for us with 5.3 and 3.73 rear end and is up for sale with 44k miles. It is a loaded LT3 so rear seat in very good condition. Since I am out of boating i don't need 2 tow vehicles between my Jeep and Tahoe. If I do get back into boating we will ûse the Jeep for a R20 or similar ride.

Almost anything will pull your RZ4 except a dodge. It will pull you to the garage every time. And your RZ4 will wiegh in around 7,000 lbs when your done with fuel, trailer, food, drinks, coolers, ice, towels, etc.

I agree. I had a Dodge. It did not pull the boat as advertised, gas mileage was awful, and worse yet, it did not want to stop. Dodge trucks are just not as good as Fords for towing! Oh and by the way, I love Obama!
