So I pulled the boat out of storage to take it down to Austin for a winterization, got all done with that and came back to the house. Decided to park it in my driveway overnight. Went to the Eli young band concert in Austin then came home the next morning. I go outside to wash the boat and soon find that every board is gone, my yeti cooler, my iPod, some ropes, 2 of the nice pullover vests I had sitting in the drivers seat and I think thats about it. I have a decent stereo system in it and was mostly worried that had been yanked out. Thank god it must have been too much trouble cuz it was all still screwed down or bolted down. I initially wasn't going to make a claim but after adding the boards and other gear up it soon eclipsed 3k so I guess it will actually be worthwhile to go ahead and file for it.

I don't know if you called your local PD yet, but if you haven't, do so. Your insurance company is gonna want a case number and it's worth letting the PD work the case. If you have serial numbers it's a lot better cause they can track pawn shops and such. Check your local craigslist adds for your stuff. Criminals are stupid..... believe me.

I think my wife was more pissed then I was about the whole situation, she was huffing around the house and every now and then I hear god damn thieves blah blah then while I was out washing the boat she would poke her head out and mumble some crap then go back inside. We do live in a decent neighborhood but like all Texas neighborhoods you go just outside of your nice division and you got trash living next door or if your really unlucky you got a trailer park across the street. I hate how they mix it up here like that.

I'd go check on that CL add. The seller may have hit another boat this weekend too. Is the board he is listing the same size as yours, same bindings. I'd at least call him and get a feeling for if hes a crook or not.

bummer and sorry to hear. We had this happen 5 yrs ago and was astounded when we added up new cost to replace skis, boards, lifejackets, anchor, lines and other stuff was over $4,000. Was painful to get insurance to cover. We now get the add-on rider with Boat US insurance for gear coverage.
