    Indmar teaming with Ford

I assume a bunch of you have already seen this:

    https://media.ford.com/content/fordm...ford-anno.html

I assume they will eventually move their entire engine lineup to Ford but for now it's the 6.2L.

I'm not sure this is the game changer they advertised it to be but competition is always good. Now show me a diesel or an ecoboost!

Game changer? I just threw up.. Looks like I better get a new boat now and keep it forever.. Ill never own something with a POS ford in it.. I will own chevy dodge toyota nissan BUT NEVER A FORD.. $hits garbage! Another upset by Tige if this is the route they are going.. Id rather see a 5.7 hemi or 6.4 hemi option as they Are as reliable as GMs 5.7 and 6.0.. Crazy crazy crazy...

There is a bright side tho guys.. Ford coming into new boats will Drive the Value up on our old boats with Real reliably engines in them! GMs part interchange is goes back and back and back.. Fords part interchange is about a year lol..

Only time will tell how this engine is going to work in the boats. I talk to plenty of people every day that have this engine in their truck. They all love them. In the year I been working at a Ford dealership the buzz about this engine has been constant. People are really loving it and telling others about it. Been taking lots of Toyotas and Dodges in trade over the last few months.

It's official, I will not be buying another Tige. I also will never own anything Ford powered.

Ya this hype is silly. So we're swapping a 6.2L for a...... wait for it...... 6.2L!

I'm a big GM guy and although once upon a time I'd never drive a Ford I think they have come a long ways. Still, I'd take an LS3 over the Ford equivalent any day.

A game changer would be doing something to reduce the ridiculous pricing on these motors, or perhaps bringing in a diesel or a twin turbo. Maybe this is a first step.

I do concur that for Tige this feels like a step backwards.

I can't believe the marketing hype saying this is going to be such a game changer when it is just a change in manufacture. The other thing I find hard to believe are all the people saying they won't buy one now because a Ford Engine is offered. I personally drive a Ford as a tow vehicle but I've never said I wouldn't buy a boat because it has a GM motor, that's just ridiculous. If you're going to be that snobby about it go by a Natique or MC. Rant over!!

Overreact much? Definitely not a game changer but what is a game changer is that ford didn't take a bail out and I'll be loyal to that blue oval over the other two companies any day of the week just for that fact. Ford did let me down by not putting an ecoboost in the expy this year but as soon as they do I'll be ready to trade in my Toyota.

Gm ls series engines are bullet proof. Never ever had a engine fail.. now we get some overhead cam chains ever where pos.. no thanks I'd own anything but never ever a pos Ford sorry.... and I promise this will increase our values because they will have failures and will give them selfs bad names in no time. Just like the power joke... gotta get the ball rolling on a new boat before this trash is the only option as I have herd it's going to be in 2015

The Ecoboost would be my guess as to why they made the switch. The motor is flat out impressive whether u like Ford or not. My assumption would be the 6.2 was an easier drop in motor initially. I'm sure there's some R&D with the ecoboost.

It cracks me up when people bash something with nothing to back up their statements, I have over 50 years experence in the automotive and boat bussiness, Im an ASE master tech over 25 years, If you were a water skiier when the 351 fords and 350 chevys were in the boats , you could tell which engine was in the boat from the hit out of the hole the fords had 30 more pounds of torque and made your pull a whole lot easier , Ford has made all the right moves and has better technolgy then the current GM or Chrysler group of engines , your current GM design is from early 2000 era , Indamar saw the writing on the wall and decided to work with Ford on a marine engine. As to performance Fords eco boost is almost equivalent of a diesel in torque with better fuel economy and less cost at the pump, nobody is stopping the other manufactures of producing an equivalant motor so where are they , as to dependabilty , If your in the marine industry count how many 351 engines are still out there versus the 350 chevys and there keeping there boat values very high try and buy a used Nautique or MC 3 event boat they still have there 351 motors running strong, as to substatuting 6.2l for an other 6.2l the ford has larger stroke for more torque and overhead cams for more power, and by the way the overhead cam engines have been in the fords since 1991 with no chain and gear failures.

I had a 351 PCM Pro Boss in my 1992 Nautique Excel. Which we bought for 26,000 with the trailer. We sold it in 2007 for 10,000[ which was well below NADA]. It had over 525 trouble free hours on it. The only mechanical repair we did besides oil changes and plugs once, were a Carb rebuild. Reliable yes,Retain it's value, hell yeah. 40% of sales price after 15 years. I've driven Ford Trucks my whole life.Never had a mechanical failure in 38 years of driving. But i have had 28 tickets,so they weren't easy miles.LOL
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.
