Has anyone confirmed what type of ballast pumps they are using?

Is Tige using a Zero off GPS cruise control?

Is the Surf bimini an option on this boat?
I hope they stay with the aerator pumps we have to much problems with the jabsco 2 way pumps and there expensive to replace, we use GPS on our ski team boats and their very inconsistant, as far as the binini my son sez its an option.

I am kinda partial to the paddle wheel setup myself. I've rode behind a boat with the smart tow feature and have to say that the speed is inconsistent, especially on rivers. I do like the smart launch feature, but not enough to upgrade to a GPS based system.

In the video, I could have sworn they were using ballast bags instead of hard tanks. Does anyone know for sure which setup Tige is going with?

The paddle wheel senses the speed of the boat in relation to the water which is why the GPS will function accurately in both scenarios whereas the paddle wheel will be off in the river.

Say you surf at 10.6 on the lake, if your heading upstream in a river you would have to increase your speed relative to the water in order to achieve the same effect as on a lake. Make sense?
Actually you have it perfectly backwards. The gps displays your speed relative to a datum, a digital rendering of the surface of the earth, it doesn't know if your on a river, or on a lake. You have to think about as water moving over the hull. So if your going upstream into a 3knot current, and your paddle wheel says 10.6, your gps will say 7.6. If your going downstream in that same current, your paddlewheel still says 10.6 but your gps speed is 13.6 in the same 3 knot current. In airplanes we call gps speed our ground speed, and it's affected by headwinds or tailwinds in the same manner. The airplane doesn't care what the ground speed is, it's all about the wind moving over the wings to maintain lift, which is why we have a pitot system to tell us our indicated airspeed which is similar to a paddle wheel on a boat. The pitot system doesn't care about headwinds in the same way a paddle wheel doesn't care about the current, it's indicating the speed of the vessel in the fluid relative to the hull, not the ground or the datum.

So IMO it's best to have both systems, but I'd rely on paddlewheel mostly in rivers or anywhere with a strong current, and gps where the water is more calm, like on a lake.

I am excited for this boat. I really like the G23 and like the wake it puts out plus the storage for hiding sacs. Very excited to have a serious option from Tige and a vx option to lengthen the surf wake. My brother is excited to have a bigger Tige style wake. He always loved the wake of the 24V and Z3 because of the lip. It was his favourite wake vs the 2013 Xstar and Malibu LSV and Axis boats. He always said though that he wished he had a wake with a longer transition but that tige kick right at the top. So he is very excited for this. Feels he will be able to do wake to wake 1080's behind the ASR as well as some of the stuff that he just has enough time to do behind the Z3 that had to work so hard at just landing.

Does anyone know if posieden mat flooring is still available? Was never a big fan of it before but after I had it for a year, I do not think I want anything else on the floor of my boat. The stuff is great. It would also be nice to have the option to have the gator flooring on the gunnels and popular stepping areas. Not sure about the swim platform on the ASR but on the Z3 I wish it had the foam on the sides of the swim platform as they were very slippery.

What about the wind dam? I hope the wind dam is not the cooler walk through? I would like an actual door to close off rather then flipping up the cooler cover. I have people that like to sit there as it is a warm spot in the boat on cold days (literally went wakeboard on October 26th in Manitoba with Ice on the shores as my brother is still training). Any warmth is a great asset. Especially if the heater comes out in the walk through.

Is there a backrest option behind the drivers seat? Was something I really liked on my Z3 as it was comfy for watching. I know some brands have portable pop ups of sorts for this application.

Curios if the driver seat position is tall like the Z3. May need that to get a good view over the bow. Also on that note if it is tall, it would be nice to have a flip down foot bolster for the shorter drivers. My wife is an OT that engineers seating and proper posture, and hates how her feet dangle when driving. SHe does like the tall seating though for good visibility with out a seat bolster for driving hours on end.

I am curios of the fuel consumption of this boat. Always been really happy with the fuel consumption of my previous tige's with the 6.0L.

Nice explanation, Ewok! Thanks for breaking it down like that.

They are working on a back rest option like the Z3.

I'm not sure if it will be a build option, but the company who builds it, DECKadence, will outfit you aftermarket with any pretty designs you may want (i.e. the name of your boat). The price is quite reasonable.... and that's all I'll say about it

Now that boating season is back in full swing anyone have any updates on orders for ASR's or ASR's coming off showroom floors in your area? Just curious to see how the boat is competing with it's target market.

I've seen some posts about a few ASR's selling up in Canada but that's it.

Texas Tige has already sold there ASR and have a second on order. So some people have the money out there... At the price of these boats I like my 2009 RZ2

I think Heinen's in Minnesota has sold 2 of them.

I just can't believe that we have not seen any pics and/or videos from owners about the ASR. I would love to see the surf wave. If the dealers are selling the boats you would think someone out there would love to brag about it on TO.
The latest video I saw on it was from the Boating Worlds website. Where I heard Daniel Gutierrez say the ASR was the flagship model and just the beginning of the Apex series. Will there be a lower cost Apex hulled boat? Plus I do not see any VX on the boat.
I guess I am just bored today and would like to see more of this boat.

The VX for the ASR was delayed 4-6 weeks from a mold issue. I got a chance to run one the other day hopefully be riding behind one this weekend or first part of next week will report if I get the chance.

Check out this GPS conversion for the paddle wheel. The company also offers the "River Runner" add on module. From that web page:

How it Works: GPS provides Speed-Over-Ground (SOG). On still water the RiverRunner knows the Speed-Over-Water (SOW), for SOW = SOG. Also a calibration will record the paddlewheel speed response; this is how fast it spins per known speeds. On a river, periodically the SOG is compared against the Paddlewheel speed. Any measured difference is due to a river current. Inject the difference into the instantaneous SOG (from GPS), to form the reported Speed-Over-Water (SOW).

I recently installed the GPS conversion but have not used it yet. I did not opt for the River Runner module as we no longer boat on the river.
