It's brass, looks similar to a drum symbol I'll take it in, unfortunetely they are booked up till June 6th... pretty crappy since it's already 100+ here
I have the same problem. Dont know what the cause is...However, I can back off the throttle and then it will go away. Either way, it can't be good. I was thinking it has something to do with the V drive or tranny too.
please let me know what you learn.
Thanks
It goes in tomorrow, I really do think it's engine/tranny after carefully inspecting the shaft/prop. I'll post what the tell me, thank god for warranty's!
If you hit something, check with your insurance carrier. I found out my deductible was only $250 and my carrier sprung for the new prop and everything. It ended up a lot less painful than I'd originally anticipated.

Well, it turned out to be the prop after all. I examined it a number of times and couldn't see anything, however they spotted it in 2 seconds once they pointed out the bend it was obvious but very subtle. It cost a lot for a new prop and I sent the other one to be repaired.
Is it typical for the insurance company to cover the prop??
If I have a vibration issues due to the prop, does it make sense that it only vibrates every once and a while? or if it is a prop vibration, would it always vibrate until i had the prop fixed?
I'm not sure, from my experience it felt fine up to about 10 mph and anything past that it started to vibrate consistantly. It wasn't extremely bad but you could definitely feel it, even more so while sitting on the back bench. And for the record i didn't feel or hear anything hit the underside. The water was extremely choppy at the time which may have contributed to the lack of sound. The bend was VERY minor but apparently it's enough to screw things up.
I have bent two props. At the slower RPM's, it should just vibrate a little. It's when you are going fast, that it feels like it will shake your boat to pieces.
