    2014 Ordered!

Finally got up to the dealer to finish the paper work on our 2014. Ended up spec'ing out both an RZR and R20. By the time we put the options on the R20 we felt we wanted it was less that 7K cheaper than the RZR. So it was a no brainer to stay with the RZR. Kept the options down as I feel its easier to sell them in the fall with less options for a lower price. As many of you know I sell my boat every fall. I'm the Tige Chattwake(for those that follow WW). LOL

Went with solid Electric blue sides with lime accent colors. Dropped the Flex gel for the VX(almost exact price swap). Options are: VX, solid hull color, stainless rub rail, plexi wind dam, Bimini, swivel racks, cover and heater. I will be installing oversized surf ballast, dual batteries, and stereo myself. Cheaper than from the factory with the same components. By doing it myself it really helps minimize any loss in the fall.

Wish I knew how to post the color configure tool to show the colors. I think its going to look sharp. But I know we will miss the black and aqua we had on our 2013 RZR. I had to compromise on decals this year(I like without) so we went with the free ride in lime. Boat should arrive in January. Doesn't really matter for us up north here!!

For those curious about price change I paid almost right at $1500 more for the same 2014 as last years 2013.

Are you going with a tandem axle trailer? It will tower better and help with resale IMO.

I'm not sure. Probably not. It does help to some buyers, but not all. I can cover both ways as the dealer can sell the new buyer a tandem and trade the single like the buyer this year did. Tandem is almost $2500 more and its tough to get that back out of it. We only tow maybe 500-600 miles a year so it doesn't pay for us. 90% of the time the boat is at our lake cabin on a lift.

I will be ready to make another order around February. Almost exactly the same as this year except I am going to drop the valves and need larger bags with the VX. I loved the control of the valves but they just take to much room. Do you know a smaller/ more compact option?

Did you order with no stereo at all, or the base stereo? Does Tige run some wires for you so that you don't have to tug then through yourself?

RZR comes standard with the base stereo. Deck and the 4 inboat XS 650's. I order the tower prewire which is only like $100. Well worth it. Couldn't imagine trying to fish wire thru the alpha Z.

Last year I had to run wire for the sub and run the tower wires from the tower base to the amp wall. Also extend the in boat wires from the deck to the amp wall. Takes some time to do it yourself, but saved me almost 2 grand and I had more power to all components and still all wet sounds.

We actually sold the 2013 with exactly 30 hours on it ironically. We had a really cold spring and bought a new house in June. 2012 had 115 hours so we were way down. We did get about 30 hours more on the combination of the couple R20 demo's the dealer let us use. So we have about 60 hours for the season which is average for many, but a little low for us. We are in the process of changing boards over the winter and also will be investing in wetsuits for everyone. So hoping to get in early in the spring.

Congrats on new boat. Just a curiosity question. I know you dont have to pull very far so it really doesnt factor into it. Does pulling a single axle trailer burn more gas. I know I pulled a single axle the same distance as a dual and the single seemed to burn a lot more. It was a little windy when pulling the single but it was a lot hillier pulling the dual. Single was a R20 and dual was RZ2 so bit of a difference in weight. Just curious that's all

@Bibbs. I'm not sure about that. I would think a tandem would cause more rolling resistance with the 4 wheels. But then there is less pressure on each wheel. I bet you couldn't see a difference in MPG, but a tandem sure feels like it tows easier and is easier on a tow vehicle. Way smoother. If we towed any more than we do, I'd own a tandem.

Ya was just curious if there was info out there. I know I was against a bunch of wind and maybe it was just one of those days the truck was more thirsty. Enjoy the new boat and I know you'll post pics.
