I am finally a Tige Owner! Looking for ideas on sub installs in a z3

Just placed my order for a 2014 Tige Z3. Cant wait to get this thing out and surf!

I"m looking for ideas where to put a sub. I'd like to replace the wimpy free air 10.

Since you are spec'ing a bout out, just get the basic 4 speaker/head-unit option and leave off the 3rd pair and sub premium option? This way, you dont have a 9" hole to work around.

Best spot, under the helm, period.

Well, it does if you go with the factory Tower O Power. Regardless, you will probably end up cutting a large square hole for the new enclosure and then fitting a new facade under the helm. The factory hole wont really be a factor.

I didn't get the Tower O Power.. lol Just a set of rev 10's. But I assumed it came with the 6 in boats and the syn 6 and a syn 2. I already have 2 syn 4's from my previous boat. Was going to pull the syn 6 out and run the 2 syn 4's and the syn 2. One syn 4 on towers, one syn 4 on in boats and syn 2 on sub. Unless its not much of a difference on the in boats then I'll keep the syn 6 and run a sub off it. and swap the syn 2 for my syn 4 to run towers. What do you think?

Tige used to call the stereo option that got tower speaker the "Tower of Power" option, whether it was one or two pair. Maybe thats changed recently. The only thing you are getting from the factory that you cant get aftermarket, are the beauty collars that Tige supplies between the tower and speaker.

*EDIT* Added a little bit to make the info a little more clear

                Standard stereo=head unit and 4 XS-650's
Premium=head unit 6 XS-650's and the XS-10 sub. All driven by one Syn 6.
Tower-o-Power is the above plus Rev10's driven by a single Syn2.

The Syn-2 is fine for a pair of tower speaker, even for the Rev-10, but it just wont push them to their potential. Since you have a spare Syn, I would use it for the Rev-10 and re-purposes the Syn-2 for a 4 ohm 12: sub. But then again, the Syn-6 will deliver 600W, rms for the same sub. Theres not going to be seat of the pants difference between 600W from the Syn-6 and 700W from the Syn-2. The Syn-6 will do just fine for the 6 in-boats, but if you do take advantage of the available 600W from the Syn-6 or the 700W from the Syn-2, for a 12", 55W to the in-boats may not be enough for you. In that case, go with the 2nd Syn-4 you have and drive the in-boats. Now, another option, is to leave the bow in-boats on chnls 1 and 2 of the Syn-6 and relocate the 4 in the main cabin to chnls 5 and 6. They will now net 150W each. This will have no problem keeping up with a 700W 12" sub.

If I do your option of separating bow and cabin. What would I run on channels 3 and 4? IT be nice to only have 2 amps. But I"m used to xs650's having 100 watts a speaker. So I"m not sure how they will sound with only 60 watts. if thats the case it makes sense to me at least to go syn4 - tower, syn 4 in boats, syn -2 sub

chnls 3 and 4 will just sit empty, the amp wont care. You could bridge the bow pair on 1/2 and 3/4 for 200W to each, but thats a TON of power for a 6.5 coaxial, so careful tuning and a little discipline on the volume knob is in order. Either way, 150 to the 2 pair in the main cabin is going to be strong!

If you just order standard ( with the intent on going aftermarket) is an amp included? Or are the 4 6.5" speakers running off the deck?

^^^^ No. base level 4 in-boats and head-unit. No amp until you go up to the premium package.

I am with CHP on this one. Just order the stock stereo set up and have your dealer or their stereo shop put in the 3rd set of speakers and then you can build the correct sub enclosure etc... That is what we did on our boat. Tige charges more than wet sounds for rev 10s because of the fancy collars and what not. It was a lot cheaper to go with the basic set up and have our dealer install everything else. If you already have some WS amps you are going to save even more money.
