We sort of felt that it should have been pointed out too...

The clamping racks are bada&$ as long as you remember to put a towel down on each side and bungee them in the inward position if you need to lower the tower. I think they are great, just need to lock on the inward position. Time for a little extra r&d PTM.

Thanks everyone for the insight and also info on the Samsons. They look pretty cool too.

Actually Tige makes the swivel adapter the clamping racks attach to.That is the mechanism that has the lock button.I've seen racks that lock both ways.I personally don't care for them as they create extra work when changing out boards. Also like Ragboy i never fold my tower. So i personally have never experienced that rack issue.
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

        Ha
        You think you were pissed
The same thing happened to me too. If only my dealer had told me this would happen!!!
My board racks and speakers weigh a ton and the springs in my tower can not compete . My tower rests on the boat cover when lowered down, my wife undid the ratchet on the boat cover when the tower was down and it dropped lower and chipped big chunks of paint off on both sides of the tower mounts ( Why wouldn't they have some sort of bump stop or something? ). Since then I have had to take the speakers off the boat and take off the board racks every time I lower the tower. its as light as a feather now. I hope this can others from making this fatal mistake

Some dealers will rig with double springs in order to combat the added wieght of racks and speakers.

I agree, a bump stop would be nice. Problem solved for now here, don't need to worry about putting the tower down to get in and out of the garage. Moved to a larger garage door storage facility...

I have seen others use seat cushion flotation devices to stop them from damaging the boat and they are considerably thicker than a towel.

We just ordered Samson board racks for our boat two weeks ago. They still haven't come in yet due to ordering red which they did not have in stock. Curious if anybody has ordered the red ones before to ensure the reds match. We have a red tower.

I must say though, our dealer was awesome about it and took care of the damage for us.

Mine has double springs on each side . I would hate to see what it would be like with single spring like my mates 2012 RZR has.

Does the RZ4 have the same issues with the springs not being strong enough to support the tower? I've seen some video reviews and seemed like the springs were strong enough to hold the tower.

Yeah, it does. Have Tige' put the double springs in and it is much better. Not perfect, but better...

Actually, it does not. My RZ4 had no problem holding the tower without it touching anything while folded back.
