Glides at 92K I'd tell them thanks but no thanks. Heck tell them you compared around the country(even though you can't buy) and you know they are ripping you off. Then let them know you will be informing all of your watersports friends how they treat their customers.

I can tell you at 92K they are making between 17-20K profit on just that one boat!!! At 83K they'd still make atleast 8K..isn't that enough??? Guess not!

With regards to price increases for 2014. The base price of a Z3 increased by exactly 3%. However on the options, some didn't increase at all, while some others increased by 6%. So the increase you will pay is determined by your mix of options.

1435 for the poseidon mats is ridiculous. The cover is too. I would look for a leftover 2013 at another dealer.
I do all my own stunt work. hey ya'll watch dis.

Those are 2 of the ones I think are crazy also. I add alot of my own options and its usually 50-70% less than from the factory!!!

Nothing personal against you boardman74, but I hate to see comments like this. I know that $8K sounds like a lot of margin, but we don't know what operating expenses (overhead) the dealer has. $8K is only about 10-12% margin. As a small business owner, I know that I cannot afford to run my operation on 10-12% margins and cover overhead and provide excellent service. Keep in mind that the more dollars they sell, the higher the product liability insurance costs. We also expect our dealers to take excellent care of us for spending this kind of money, we expect nice facilities, sales staff to answer questions, service bays to take care of us with little to no down time and part on hand to replace whatever we may need. Sorry for the somewhat off topic, but all "deals" should be good for both sides. I want my dealer to make enough so that him and his crew WANT to take care of me and my boat and to be around to provide service 10 years from now. If they are not making $$$ they will get out and may not even take on another boat line! Food for thought.

              Related to OP this time:
That is a lot for the Poseidon, but I have to say that we ordered it and absolutely love it. It is light weight, dries out nice (as well as the Sea Deck under it). The Poseidon is one of the things in our boat guests notice right away and always have positive things to say, not that we got it for others. To each their own. One thing to consider is figure out what YOU want on your boat and see what they will do for you on price. Maybe you don't need to spend $3K on flex or additional custom trailer expense, custom tower coloring.... It will be your boat and it is your money, make sure you get what you want for the value you desire. Given you will have all winter, I believe that I saw others that did some of the addons (stereo, ballast, etc) and saved ALOT of $$ over factory option pricing. Good Luck! All that aside, it does seem to be a lot higher than what others (us included) paid for our boats, but it also has a lot of options ours does not.

Excellent advice. That would even get you a tried-and-true, proven PCM powertrain in the deal since Tige was still using them last year. Definitely the way to go.

X2. PCM is a good way to go.

                    +1

Dealers are not in business to make everyone a great deal. You should want your dealer to make as much money as possible (up to MSRP) on everyone except you and possibly your referrals. They can't possibly operate on a 10-12% gross margin.

man I can see this debate heating up.. I think I will keep my thoughts locked down... I dont agree with most of what is posted on the dealer\Tige side. But I see a valid point about doing business. my problem is how much variation there from market to market. But then again we are talking about a LUXURY item. So all is fair i suppose.

I do agree that there is a big difference from market to market, based on posts here. That aside, I do think that Tige is not doing right by the customer by not allowing the dealers to sell outside of their area. Yes, I agree with giving the dealer an area to cover and not having another dealer 5 miles down the road. Car dealers have territories, but you can buy your vehicle from any dealer and any other dealer HAS to perform the warranty work. I think it would be better for all involved if they worked this way. It would also give the dealers a chance to show that they are competitive on the level of service they provide even if the boat was not purchased from them. Then again, I am a believer that service sells. In my area I have 2 dealers about equally spaced from me (1.5 hours) and when I was shopping, I also shopped service reputation. I actually sent both dealers emails and to this day, I have not recieved a reply from the one that didn't get my business. I had the luxery to shop dealers, everyone should be allowed that.

In 2011 i was looking a loaded RZ2 with everything except the tower camara, and it was an end of the year deal at almost $88K with TTL! I could not pull the trigger, he did follow up with me a week later trying to save me another $1K, I passed, and found a deal on a used 2011 RZ2 for $61K pluss TTL (i think total was $66K)
I know its not the same boat, but i dont think they are off $10K-15K, you maybe can get them down a few grand. Is that $93K with TTL?

Find a 13 and buy from another deal sir thats flat out a rip off I don't care.. You dont make that margin on New cars, trucks and or boats sorry... You make your money in service and accessories sales. There high margin will drive them out of business cause no one is into getting Fawked with no lube!

Dealers do have that ability, except for the current model year boats. For example, since the 2014's are shipping, any dealer can sell anyone anywhere a brand new 2013 Tige. It will come with full factory warranty.

I put my money where my mouth is, this is exactly how I bought my Tige from an awesome dealer (Forte's) about as geographically far away from me as possible within the contiguous 48 states (Spokane WA to Largo FL, almost 3000 miles). It was an awesome buying experience - best new vehicle experience I've EVER had - and it made me and the dealer happy (I saved gobs of money, they made room on the showroom floor for the latest model year). I do almost all of my own service work and they continue to back me up with telephone and email support when I have questions. This beats out my experience with ANY other dealer of ANY other kind of vehicle, whether with wheels or a hull.

As I noted above, this year in particular is a good one for buying a leftover Tige. They switched engine manufacturers in 2014 and while I'm sure the new guys make a fine engine, there are ALWAYS "first year bugs" to be fixed as the two companies figure out each other's details. I'd skip being someone else's unpaid beta test site and go with a 2013 or earlier which will come with that PCM powertrain I mentioned... one that Tige has been using for years and for which most of the little bugs and kinks have long since been worked out in other people's boats.

Just my $0.02 (well, OK, I did pay a bit more than that for my Tige!).
