    2014 Z1

    Hey everyone,
    I have a 2012 R20 and am in the process of getting a 2014 Z1. I figured this would be a good time to get a great deal on a new boat(end of season). The stock card on this Z1 is $103,980. The boat dealer is coming in at around $92,000. I know nobody ever pays stock card prices, but is 10% off truely a great deal?? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Depends on the options for the boat, to me that seems like a lot. Dealers around us were selling Z1s for $77-80k loaded with rev 8 tower speakers with lights around them, heat, 343 motor, surf bimini, convex vx, surf ballast, poisden flooring. For $92k you can get a 2014 Mastercraft X30 with a 6.0l in it around us, or for $95k you can get a 2014 Nautique 230 with the 409 in it.

      Sharp looking boat but seems high on the price point for a Z1. Agreed with Barry local dealer is in the price range of $75-$85k depending on features. Fully loaded pushes the $85k mark.

          Given the stock card that seems high on price. Given in my area that would be an $80k boat. Make sure to demo that boat a lot! Surf it both sides to make sure it surfs long, tall, clean and has push.

          Also make sure the heat works ok, with no moisture in the air, or leaking into the cabin compartment. Check to see if ballast is filling and draining correctly. Also check to see if the swim platform/convex vx brackets are bolted straight on the transom. There were several 2013 boats made where the holes were not drilled correctly and they were off up to 1/2 inch. If this is the case the boat will list when at crusing speed, and it will not surf good. I have personally seen these issues first hand on a Z1 that I almost bought.

          Im sure you already know this but make sure the boat is dialed before you make a deal!!! Good luck and post more pictures if you end up getting it.

            I know 2 people that have bought fairly well equipped vx z1's in the last 6months and both were at or under 70. some of the options on that boat would push it to 80, but no way I would pay 90 for it. that's getting deep into z3 territory and resale that you will never see again.

              I would definitely pass at 92. When I sell my 13 z1 in the spring I will probly take 69-72 depending on market. That boat has the flex package and mine does not but my boat most definitely has the edge when it comes to stereo equipment and lighting. All other options including ballast seem the same. Offer that guy 79-80 and see what happens.

                  That would be a pretty well equipped Z3 price, not a Z1! Wow!

                    Yeah dude, I wouldn't talk to that dealer again unless it was to tell him about this post you made and how much you found out he was trying to take you for. That is beyond a ridiculous price for a Z1.

                        ^^^Ding Ding. I can buy a well optioned Z3 for less!!! That is way high. Like most have said by atleast 10-15K high!

                        @Wicked..Stealership!! I love that term!!

                        From what I am reading and hearing seems like many of the national Tige dealers fall into the Stealership class. I have personally talked to people from at least 4 different dealer territories that are getting quoted prices like this. Its pushing people away from Tige in many cases. I mean now R20's MSRP in the low 50's with no options. If your getting quoted MSRP, who is going to pay 55K for a base no option R20? Just talked to a guy who was getting quoted 50K+ on a 2013 R20 demo with light options....come on dealer!!

                        Also 10% off isn't even a deal...20% off is a good deal. Anything more is a smoking deal. Like people are saying that boat should go in the low 80's to high 70's.

                            The bad part is since it is a '14 Z1 there is not alot that can be done if the dealer won't budge because of "protected" territories.

                              What stage of the negotiation is this, did you just ask for his price and that was it? Did you make an initial offer or counter offer? Just curious, seems pretty high as most have said.
