That is the E-Tower. Some people like it others don't. It works okay but does wiggle around. The Z-Tower that people did have takes the tube to 3" and adds a lot more stability to the tower.

There has been one known case that the E-Tower didn't hold up. However, I do know that the person that had the tower used his boat a ton and 6 can speakers.

I have the E-Tower and it is a pain in the rear to put up and down!

I have always really liked the samson razor and how simple it is to put up and down and the fact that it comes with swivel racks. Not sure how much trouble the tige tower is going to be to lower and raise. I also don't like how small the Bimini is in this tower. I will have to figure out what I am going to do with that! Momma has to have her shade!!!!

Do you have a pic of your 08 RZ2 ? Would love to see the samson tower on that boat.

I also have the E-series. It has some wobble to it but I also have 6 speakers on it. The tower is not to bad to take down if you have a good method, but then again I may only do it twice a year. If you have the means to swap for a Samson I would.

If you keep the tower I went with a Bimini from towerbiminis.com and have been happy with it. Easy up and down but faily spendy.

That concerns me as I have to put the tower up and down every time I use the boat!

The samson is going to run about $4k with Bimini! Ouch!

Ive done the E-Series by myself dozens of times and its easier to put back up then other towers.

You will learn the tricks to it but the first time or two is kind of a pain. I was at the point where I wanted to pull the adjustable handles off and use a ratchet/drive tool to remove the screws that hold the tower uprights. It's definitely easier if you have two people, especially with 4+ tower speakers on there. Nothing to be scared of, sorry if I came across that way.

Thanks for that feedback Mike. That eases my mind a little on the tower.

On a different subject...What kind of ballast does the 08 RZ4 need for a good regular side surf wave?

We have found that the Fly High W712 Enzo sac is a good fit for the RZ4 rear locker. For the bow, either a W711 Integrated bow sac or a pair of the W701 V-drive sacs.

That's not as bad as I thought it would be. Do you have any issues with clearance of the speakers when you fold it up?

There is about a 1/2" clearance between two of the speakers but my speakers come off in a few seconds so no big deal. The Bimini has some adjustability on the clamps so you could lower when you install them.
