First off, boat is a 2000 Tige 21i 350mag. So if u read any of my previous threads you know I have had problems with this boat. Boat will run fine for over an hour then just start sputtering and eventually shut off, but if i lift the engine cover up it will clear up. Temp gauge never goes up. I installed a blower for the front vents to suck air into motor, and even re routed the original blower vent to make sure all the hot air was getting out. Anyways, yesterday it did it again, but when I tried to start it back, it made this really loud and winding noise. Sounds kinda like something just spinning really fast. Kind of hard to explain the noise. It's just not turning over at all. Any one got any ideas on what that could be??

Sounds like the starter motor is spinning but the gear is not engaging in the fly wheel. I believe you have the same motor as I though I have a V Drive and I believe yours is a direct drive? If it is direct drive, it should be on the starboard side low on the motor right at the rear of the motor where the engine and transmission bolt together. I would snap a photo but just buttoned up the boat since we have rain coming. The stater should be cylindrical shaped.

Thats what it is. The starter bendex(gear that engages the flywheel) is not popping up and engaging the engine. Common failure with starters. Probably ready for a new starter or rebuild. Easy to pull out, then find a shop locally that works on them. make sure you let them know its a marine starter.
Hopps gives a good description as to the location. Starter looks like a big soup can. About twice as long as it is round. Should have pretty stout red(+) and Black(-) wires connected to the back. Makes sure you disconnect the batteries before you remove it. Should be an easy job on a DD.
