Shaft Seal Recall - 2013 Tige

My shaft seal started to leak like a sprinkler while surfing. I found the leak after inspecting my bilge and noticed it was full of water. Called my dealer and was informed of a recall. I fixed the seal by putting it back in its proper position, but will add the recommended collar when it comes in. For some reason the collar eases itself away from its home position and starts to leak.

It has come to our attention the water cooled shaft seals may slide back on the shaft causing water to leak into the boat. You will need to add a collar behind the seal to prevent this from happening. See attached instructions.

You will need to contact your customers who have purchased these boats and advise them to bring their boat in to the dealership for repair. Tigé will reimburse your dealership 30 minuets of labor for the repair.

Parts needed: D1051B Shaft seal collar.

    Cheers,
    Ken
