Usually, my State Farm agent is with me when bad things happen. Never had a problem with a claim. The price is definitely in the ballpark.

I think the ones who would know, are the dealers that have to deal with the insurance company when a claim occurs. I have have seen some pictures of boats, with some serious damage, in the service department @ Tige' Watersports of Corona. They would for sure know which insurance companies pay claims fast and without problems.

I'd be interested to hear from them (Corona ) too. I'm in So Cal and have AAA but I've never done anything with them but send them a check. I need to renew in a few days. I'll call Western Marine, Progressive, and USAA for a price but do any of you know how they compare to AAA for service?

I thought AAA has an exclusion for the Colorado River. I think it is specifically the Parker Strip where the Regatta will be held this weekend. If they don't cover the Parker Strip I would not set my boat in there this weekend. Check it out with your agent.

You can always put in up at Havasu.

The Parker Strip it the Bermuda Triangle for boats over 22".

Its way to shallow, to narrow and overrun with PWC renters.

I would understand why they refuse to cover on Parker.

            Its an irrigation ditch.

I was on State Farm with my boat but they are too expensive. I have all my cars and house on State Farm but I put my boat and motorcycle on USAA (progressive) because it was $100 year cheaper and the dissapearing deductables. It is an agreed value policy also. I put my motorcycle on there for the multiline discount as it's only $70 year and saves me $100 year on the boat. I pay $380 year for $19k boat.

The boat insurance was cheap until I told them "inboard". Apparently this is a magic word.

In Florida overall inboards are cheaper cause outboard and outdrive theft is an issue. Progressive was also cheaper than State Farm for me on the boat, but crazy expensive for my motorcycle so I kept that with SF.

Just called AAA. No issue w/ colorodo river unless you start making multiple claims from there. I also got prices from progressive and western marine. Both were higher until west mar fudged w/ my years of boating experience. BTW AAA offers 4 and 6 month "lay-up" options that droped my price from 430 to 350 (well under the others prices).

We had an incident this summer when we hit a submerged rock on the Parker Strip. We took our 21i to Matt in Henderson, he wrote up an estimate & sent us home to call our agent. Our insurance is through American Family--they sent their adjuster out to look at the boat--copied the repair quote word for word & cut me a check on the spot. Even covered a new Acme prop. The policy runs about $400 a year, but the service is great!

$400 sounds good. Is that for 12 months? What are your coverage amounts?

I have the full Westmar insurance covering my boat for $600. Progressive through USAA (they have my home insurance, car insurance AND boat loan) wanted $1,200. I couldn't believe that price, it's the first time USAA has been more expensive for anything I've done.

Not sure if it is Vegas or being 25, but State Farm wanted $625 from me, not much more, but still more then Westmar.

I have Allstate Insurance 296 for a year on the 05 24v and trailer. I had a claim on my Duramax last Feb (hit by uninsured motorist) they handled it great. I think having a local agent helps tons if I have questions or whatever I just stop in. I think I'm in good hands.
