According to my dealer the reason for the extra thru hole on each corner is that with the new larger fill lines and the 1200 gpm pumps it created to much pressure in the sacs/tanks for just one just one drain so they added an extra to relieve pressure.....kind of a bummer that there is not an extra fill/drain pump.

This makes sense. In our mid year 2013 we have the larger pumps/lines and always end up with alot of air "trapped" in the top of the sac. We generally have to wait for the air to escape then fill again to actually get the sacs full.
Does anyone know if Tige is the type of company that will cover an upgrade on mid year set ups like ours under "warranty"? This is obviously a design flaw on their behalf and have created a solution. I would like to think they would allow the update as a covered situation for customer satisfaction/customer PR. Any thoughts from previous situations?"I think I am pretty smart for an idiot"

So it sounds like the tank and surf sac each have their own vent t-hullMikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

I have a hybrid piggy back setup and there are unintended consequences to that setup. For starters, most with a heavily listed surf setup will see passive draining out of the vent and drain lines if they are plumbed to the same side of the boat as the surf weight so they must be routed to the opposite side of the boat. In my system I have the vent line for the factory hard tank attatched to an extra fill port on my 1100lb sac sitting on top of the hard tank. The sac also has it's own fill pump but the vent line from the hard tank (standard piggy back style system) is just extra fill capacity. The sac and hard tank also have their own drain pumps but I have also noticed that my hard tank drain pump helps drain the sac as well due to a siphon effect of the vent line from the hard tank to the sac. I've confirmed that I'm getting passive draining from the sac, through the vent line to the hard tank, through the fill pump and out through the hull. In order to fix this I'm going to put a check valve in line for the hard tank fills and that should solve that problem. Another issue with my setup is that without an open vent for the hard tank, when the sac is empty, the hard tank drain pump is actually pulling water thorugh the fill pumps. It keeps the hard tanks full and will just continue to circulate water from the lake, into the hard tank, and out into the lake again. The only way to get the hard tank to empty is drain while the boat is on plane and there is no water to suck though the fill line or disconnect the vent line from the hard tank to the sac. Right now I'm just disconnecting the vent line after the sac is sucked flat to the bottom of the locker.
Based on my experience it seems that having a seperate vent for the hard tank is not a bad idea as long as the fill pumps for the sac meet the desired fill times. My fill and drain times are pretty quick for me, about 6-7 min to fill, but it's got room to improve and I'll take the time to work on it someday.2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

You have to mind check-valves in vent lines when hard tanks are involved. The hard tank need to be able to draw air in while draining. The air replaces the exiting water, preventing the hard tank from collapsing.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More
