    Cheap Surf Bimini

I wanted to see if I liked the surf bimini concept before I took mine off and took it to a local shop to have pockets sewn in so here is what I came up with. Not the prettiest thing or near as fancy as the factory surf pockets but seemed to function pretty well and it only cost me 10 bucks.

Looks good. With that you might not need to sew full pockets, jus a divider between the boards so they don't slide and knock into each other.

If and when you do go to get pockets added shop around. Mine were about 250 which included extra sunbrella and heavier vinyl to protect the sunbrella of the actual top. Other have done it cheaper but I bet you could find a place to do everything for less than 200 bucks.

Haha, I am glad my dog has grown out of the chewing stuff up phase.

Yeah I was figuring $200 to $300 if I wanted to have the pockets added. It could be interesting on mine though because with the slope of my bimini the front of the board doesnt actually follow the contour of the bimini so it would have to accommodate that. Honestly the look doesnt really bother me so like ewok said I may just stick with this setup for awhile. Just figured I would share in case someone else was looking for a low cost option for holding boards.

I use same concept only with 2 flex straps and stack boards on top of each other.

Thanks for the idea. May implement this while I'm considering changing the bimini.

Inland surfer makes GREAT surf board bags. Consider picking up two to provide extra protection from boards bumping and to give a few spots you can clip the bag to the net.
