Looking for Clarion CMD-5 marine radio

Wondering if anyone out there had any ideas on where to find a used Clarion CMD-5 marine radio. My oriniginal stock radio on my 2008 Z1 is shot and I am told that if I go with a newer version that my 2 remotes (which work fine) and all my wiring will have to be done which will cost big bucks. There is only one on ebay right now that looks pretty banged up. Crazy that Clarion builds them that way where the newer versions are not compatable. Help, Ill take any advice I can get, thanks, Santo

    Santo,

It is true that your current 6 pin remotes will not work with the newer 8-pin headunits, such as the CMD6 and newer, but the head-unit would almost be a plug-n-play swap, other then running the cables for the new remotes. I have heard of some splicing color for color, the old remote cables into the new unit's 8-pin cables. Most remote functions are retained, but not the display.

Check Ebay, I helped a neighbor install a CMD-5 he bought on ebay for $90 a few weeks ago.

I have one I took out of my boat last summer. It has the iPod adapter and an extra remote. PM and make me an offer.
