    Two wakesurf question

    Two wakesurf question.

Need to make surf wake longer. Have 2005 24V with 1400 lbs in back starboard corner and ride goofy. Thank you Chpthril for the set up. I tried to find Ragboy set up when he had his 24V but can't find any info. Any suggestions?

Been wake surfing for two years with Ronix Cortez. I'm ready to make move to more aggressive surf board and try some ollies. I'm 6'3" and 212lbs. Would like to get into board under $800. I've been looking at Liquid Force Quad 5' only $450.

How much weight are you running up front? Others that have had that boat can tell you how much you need but seems to me that boat likes a lot. That should help length

I have no weight in front only in back on starboard side. Produces nice big wake with nice curl. The pocket is not very long.

If you have some sacs, try putting weight up front and playing around with it. Or if you have a few people out with you have them sit in the bow and see what it does. I would try 400 to 600 depending on how many peeps you have in the boat. I am not really familiar with the 24 but my brother had a 06 22v and its wave length grew quite a bit with weight up front

Just for shits and giggles I broke out the 24v today and tried some different ballast setups than I had ran in the past. Been riding my z3 all year and just got it dialed in. Took that same logic to the 24v and now I am in a pickle. I wonder thought that the 24v was awesome. Then got the z3 dialed in with the vx and it was just a touch better. Then today got even more out of the 24v. I am now convinced that the 24v is the best wakesurf boat ever made. Ran the two boats back to back and the wakes are equally as long, but the 24v is just a bit meatier and taller. It is just absolutely awesome.

Anyways on with the weight. Surf side I have an 1100lb sac filled as much as it will go which is likely around 700 lbs. I have a 400 lb sac on top of it which is maybe 200 lbs. I have a 400 under the bench seat filled all the way at maybe 300 lbs. In the front locker I have an 1100 lb sac filled which is actually filled all the way as it has room. In the front locker opposite to it I have a sac filled to about 400 lbs and the rear locker is filled to about 600 lbs. No sacs anywhere on the seats or the floor.. I have only 3 in the boat. Will get some pics tomorrow. I have perfect pass on 10.7 and taps at 7.

If looking for a board I would look at the shredstixx ringer. I just bought this board from cms. It is the easiest and liveliest board I have ever used. I bought the chaos custom version. It is very fast, has great drive, nice release off the wake and has good pop. It also spins well. Don't waste your time with the non custom boards. The wakeboard companies do not make good surfboards. I tried the lf chase sixxer and it was absolutely garbage. So slow. Stick with companies like shredstixx, flyboy, inland surfer, soulcraft, mendonesia among others. Between cms and actually talking to nick wiersema the shaper of my board, they answered all my questions and got me on a board that works really well for me. I loved my two bullet, but it is a slug compared to this shredstixx. I am getting much better airs and landing more spins on my first day on the board.

              Loud,

Tell me what you mean by 'front locker 1100 pound sack'? The only place you could put 1100 pounds other than the rear compartment would be under the dash on the passenger side. Is that what you mean? I could never do that because I have amps in there.

When I owned my 24V, I had a custom surf sack that was about 1400 pounds on the port side up under the bench as well, and I found the wave was better if I put 400 pounds in the nose and another 400 pounds in the opposite locker in the rear. It sounds like you have enough in the corner, now start building the weight away from there.
              Be excellent to one another.

All great advice, one more tip, as a general rule to get a longer pocket speed up. I have a nice long pocket at 11.6 mph and taps at 3.

Speed is 10.5 and trim is from 4-6 depends on number of friends in boat with wight in back starboard corner. I have found more weight in my starboard ballast will make pocket longer, but pocket needs to be longer.

I would try speeding up 11.0-11.5.

Yes an 1100 lb under the dash. My amp is high and dry. I would not do that on the z3 as the amps are so low. They wake is rocking right now with this setup. Nothing on the floor or on the seats and barely any people in the boat. I think it comes down to preference though. My brother does not like it as much as the z3 wake. However I land more 360's behind the 24V. So it is probably a toss up. I just like how big and meaty it is. I cant get that same height with the z3.
