When pulling up a surfer with enzo sac mostly full I am getting feedback from the steering wheel. It will shake pretty violently and makes a lot of noise. The steering cable was replaced this past spring. Any ideas of what would be causing this vibration and noise? It happens when the rudder is straight or turned but is more pronounced when it is turned one way or the other when pulling up a surfer. It does not happen unless there is ballast and the more ballast the worse it gets. This is an 05 24V. Is there some sort of adjustment. I searched the forum with no results.

Sounds like you have cavitation from the loaded up boat. Does it happen with no ballast? Does it go away when you get up to speed? You might want to look at a new prop, a new prop will get you better acceleration with heavy weight but it might take away some top end speed. If you can get on plane and can live with the shakes then you probably don't "need" a new prop.2009 RZ2, PCM 343, MLA Surf Ballast, Premium Sound.

It only seems to happen with ballast and only for the first few seconds of pulling up a rider. The shake in the wheel and noise from the wheel is significant though. How do you diagnose play in the rudder? The prop does have some minor damage but wouldn't think it would cause such vibration at such a specific time?

CDA,
Is you boat still fitted with the stock 537 prop? Dings in the prop or not, It sounds like you are experiencing prop slip. With that amount of ballast and the boat listed over, its easy for the prop to suck air (cavitate) as well.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Yes, I believe it is the stock prop. I think I will get this one repaired and keep it as a spare and look into a new prop to handle the ballast we are running. Nearly all of our time is spent surfing. Thanks for the feedback. I was a bit alarmed because the wheel shake and noise is significant.
Ewok, do you know of any good prop repair places in the area?
Thanks again!
