Best Time to sell an older Tige?

It was the surfing that hooked my wife... after a year with our 2001 21V she wants me to sell the boats (the Yamaha has not even touched the water this year) for another Tige for next season. I can't wait to start getting opinions and information for the next boat!

That will be soon enough, but for now I am wondering what would be the best time to sell our current Tige? Or does it really matter one way or the other with an older boat? Are the prices pretty consistent with older boats from season to season?

Thanks for any advice, the 21V has been great this year. And this groups advice has been great (especially the info on changing the impeller, and contacting chptril for a ballast system)! But she wants something larger and newer, who am I to argue?

If you are looking for top dollar, spring is the best. People don't want to have to worry about storing a toy all winter.

If it is priced lower than the market it should sell quickly.

Normally the peak of the boat market is from boat show time until the 4th of July. For Minnesota, anyway. Right now it is on the drop but not over by any means. But the time for squeezing top dollar is probably gone. If you price your boat fairly for what it is, you should still be able to get it sold, but I wouldn't delay. You being in northern VA I would guess if you make it to October your gonna own it till spring unless you give it away. I am selling mine and all interest came from Only inboards(have it listed 5 places). I will have sold it in less than 24 hours on there as long as the buyer comes thru this Thursday(buyer is from Canada 16 hours away).

onlyinboards is the place to list.... for sure. unless you have a budget boat in or under 30k in great shape.. it will sell fast in any market.. but I agree spring to july 4th.... the best selling and $$$ for your ride.

Spring is by far the easiest time to sell for top dollar.

Sounds like I should start looking to buy now, and sell in Spring. Thanks for the info.

On a slightly different note, the boat is a 2001 21V, probably worth in the mid 20's when all is said and done. Would it be out of place on OnlyInboards? Or should I just put it on Craigslist and deal with all the scammers trolling through there?
