From what I was told and have read on here and other places the current model IS being discontinued, just not immediately. I was told they will continue to be built and phased out over the next 18-24 months. But when everyone knows there is a new RZ2, who wants to buy a brand new old model one? We are a society of wanting the latest greatest. I question Tige's logic to continue building it, if only for a short time. They didn't continue to build the old Z1, so why with the RZ2? Unless they plan to make it a budget model like MC did with the old Xstar hull as they replaced them(X1..then X2). I guess they can call it the R22 to go with the R20. If made a price point boat like the R20, maybe they would sell well. Since we trade almost every year and I am always thinking resale, buying a now non-current boat model doesn't make sense to me. Unless its a smoking deal.
I agree though, I'd also take the RZ2 over the RZR, size wise. No question its more boat and the price reflects that. You just don'r often see them seriously compared as the price is very different. I think its at least a 15K jump. Thats pretty substantial to most people. Heck, I think the RZR would fit inside the RZ2. We thought about going to an RZ2 this year as I thought they were much closer in price than they are. When I heard the price we decided it was more jump then we wanted to make.
