    Used Pricing

Hey all. I am looking for some help with used pricing to get my boat sold. I have researched and with a lack of used 2013's its really tough to know where to price. A big help would be what people paid for their 2013's and what potential buyers are being quoted on 2013's and now 2014's. I listed the boat on here and didn't have much interest and wonder if I am to high or about right. Curious because I am getting ready to aggressively list on Only inboards, boat trader, craigslist, etc.

Boat is a 2013 RZR. Options: Single axle trailer with upgraded wheels, lighted Tige cut outs, tie downs, etc. Stainless rub rail, Alpha Z tower with swivel racks and bimini, Wind dam. I added additional ballast with high end Y diverters plumbed in. About 200 lbs over the optional surf ballast and still all integrated. Stereo has stock plus rev8's and sub with an Ht6 and HT4 amp. Added dual batteries with the 4 position switch. Swim deck filler cushion. Cover and a few other things. Boat has 30 hours.

MSRP(we all know they aren't real) was between 74-75K before the added options. As it sits per the Tige option list it would have MSRP'd somewhere in the low 80's. I am at $60K. Am I in the ball park? Only other used one I see is the 2012 on here for 57K. Thanks for any help. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to publicly post pricing.

I just think you are selling in a tough pricing segment. I just looked at boats on onlyinboards between 50-60k and there are some big time heavy hitters in that range. You have X Stars, SAN 201s, VLX's, VTX's LSVs, A22s, MB Sports F21s, 21 TWBs, Supra 242s etc... all that are 2008 or newer in that price range. Seeing as how a Tige warranty doesn't transfer you don't even have the warranty aspect in your favor. While I don't think there is anything wrong with your price you are just in a tough range like I said. I think if you get very aggressive like you are saying with the price it will sell. Is it not worth trading in at that same "aggressive" price? I know here in Colorado you only pay the tax on the price difference between the trade in and the new boat. So you trade yours in for say 55k on a 100k boat you pay tax on 45k. Not the 100k. Just something to think about.

We are already running the sale thru a dealer so tax will not be an issue. It will work same as trading. But that is a great point and it does work the same way here, only paying tax on the difference. Would you consider 55K to be an aggressive number on my boat? I'd have to run the numbers but I think i could live with that without including the stereo and extra ballast. By aggressive I meant more actively trying to sell, as till now I had just posted it on here and a little word of mouth.

I think 55k is a GREAT deal on that boat. You are still in what I consider the toughest pricing segment for used boats but you are now below the price of most of those heavy hitters on the list I posted above.

I agree you are in a tough pricing segment link Bruizza mentioned.

By the way, when does the boating season end up where you live? Seems like by each day you don't have it listed you would be missing out on opportunities.

We ride into October most years. But you are correct time is wasting. Just got back last night from vacation so am planning on getting it list multiple places by the weekend. Because it is later in the season I want to make sure I have it at a price that makes it worth it for someone to buy. Like I said above its just tough to price a used boat when their are no comps to price it against.

On a side not let me get opinions on this. Am I better off to sell as is at a higher price or rip the stereo and extra ballast out and sell a few thousand less?

            I appreciate the responses!!

although a great boat, it's also in a tough size market and parked on a single axle(something a lot of people consider a negative). I had a heck of a time ditching my supra 20ssv to get into a bigger boat and like mentioned-in your price range, you are up against a lot of competition from larger boats. not sure but I wonder if the lack of the vx will be a negative as well. most buyers looking at '13 and up tiges will know about this and it'll play a factor in the decision.

I believe stereo/ballast are $$ that you will never really recoup out of a boat. I think you have to have something in there(factory), but if you have added extra pumps/bags and upgraded to a huge stereo, you won't get 50% of new price out of it. I'd consider the ballast money and upgrade gone, and price it both with the stereo and without the pieces you want to take(sub/rev8's/ws amp) and see who bites.

good luck with whatever you do. it's a nice looking boat.

I think your pricing at 60 is very competitive. Have you priced it out on NADA.com? Here is what I came up with, it's a good baseline and someplace to start from. I think it's just a tough time of year and you have to be aggressive on getting the word out anyway you can with only inboards, boat trader, Craigslist, local paper, MSP paper, MSP Craigslist, just keep working it. Remember, the nada price does not include the trailer.

Thanks for the input guys. Great advice.

@sandm. I do have a single axle and that could hurt. We don't tow much so it was fine. Boat stays on a lift. With the base engine the single is fine and tows great. My boat was made way before the VX's were released so wasn't an option. Could easily be upgraded. That said those 2 things are about 6K in options. So price would reflect, I hope it won't be an issue at the price.

Thanks for looking that up EWOK, I hadn't. I assume I am at least average retail as there isn't a mark on it. I have it listed on here and as of tonight on Wakeworld, Only Inboards, Boattrader, and will hit Craigslist in the morning both here and in northern MN where our cabin is. I decided to list it at $58,900/BO with an offer to go lower without some of the stereo/ballast. I think that is fair and priced to move!

I think you are doing ok. Yes there are other boats in that price range but someone looking for your boat will understand that it is a decent price. Depends on what the buyer is looking for. Have to appeal to your market which is entry level family looking for great surfing as well as solid ski and board wakes. I know of a guy right now looking for just the thing. He wants a rzr to not break bank. He could go buy other brands but they don't offer the flexibility that the rzr can offer for what he is looking for.

I must have been close as I have the boat sold pending payment. Buyer is driving down from Calgary for the boat Thursday. Paid within a $1000 of what i was asking and is driving 16 hours each way to get it.

It sold in less than 24 hours(assuming the deal goes thru) from an add on OIB. I'm thinking I was too cheap as I also have 2 more buyers who want a phone call if this one falls thru.
