Why did you choose Tige?

For me it was the Mercury Motor and the small soft wakes!!! I live about 20 miles form the Mercury Headquaters so I can always get parts and service at any time!!! Plus it is a well built boat.

For us it was the fact that the floor is lower, or sides are higher on the boat- made my wife feel better about having our 2 year old playing in the boat or just sittn on the seat we we are just put'n along. He sits in one of our laps when we are going any faster...

For me it was the big stiff wake and the GM motor!

I like my dealer.

handles rough water better than the competition.

With TAPS I can get either a big hard wake, or a soft small wake - This is the most versitile sport boat you can get!

for us it fit the requirements of having a family boat that my parents can take out cruising on the lake without gettin beat to death, and for me it was the ability to have a boat with a great wake that when weighted properly can out do any other wake on the market

For me it was a few things. First it seemed to be the most comfortable and roomy boat I sat in. I spent two days at the show and just kept coming back to the Tige'. Second the excitement at the Tige' tent was awesome compared to any company at the show. They were extremely excited about there product. And the new hull design along with the taps for me just made good sense especially for a beginner like myself to not have to wory about loding the heck out of the boat wiyh ballast but with the option later to add it if I choose. There is a ton of room in my 22ve. It is an awesome boat and if it performs and holds up as good as it looks and rides I will be a very happy Tige' owner for a long time!

Did the homework...

I would encourage you to go take a look at the thread as noted below... On page 17 I posted information on the head to head demo that we did between a Malibu and Tige. It starts about half way down the page and there are pictures of the two demos following it. We looked at all the major brands, and rode in several before getting into a contest between Malibu and Tige. When all was said and done, the Tige was the right boat for our family. Value, size, storage, versatility, great wake, did I mention storage. Oh yeah, and there is storage...

The boat interior is deeper for safety, the motor is strong. I like where the cupholders are. I like the rockin tower that we got with it... Generally, this was just the right boat for us.

I have a good friend on this board that ended up with a new Malibu 247. It's a sweet boat and is very nice. There are things I like much better about the Tige not the least of which is the constuction of the boat, thickness of the hull, the way the seats are constructed as part of the overall structure of the boat. I am convinced that if anybody really really does there homework, they will land firmly wtih a Tige.

Believe me, there are lots of very nice boats out there with good layouts and super wakes... But look beyond the bling and do your homework. There are little things that I would do differently on our Tige if I were King of the Tige factory...but overall it's a great boat and we are really enjoying our new 24Ve... We also looked at several boats new and used. We wanted something with an excellent slalom wake but that could also produce a beginner/intermediate wake for wakeboarding. That left us with a 20' boat for most brands. We wanted to hit the mid 30's for price and have an open bow with a walkthrough. That was our criteria to start with.

After demos, boat shows, and riding with friends we decided the 20i fit us the best.

Our reasons in no particular order...
The Tige has more freeboard, so less water over the nose and more secure for the kids.

With TAPS, we could improve the boarding wake without loosing all of our storage to ballast tanks.

The slalom wake is awesome!

Huge amounts of storage compaired to every other slalom specific boat.

Structurally, we felt the Tige was better than any competitor's boat.

Great fit & finish inside and out.

We felt the interior was more comfortable than the other brands.

The Tige dealer was the best of any of the dealers. They were honest and up front with us, fair with the pricing, accomodating, and just plain nice. We spent all the time we wanted on the demo ride and were offered another if we would like. (The brand X dealer treated us like it was a huge inconvenience that we actually wanted to ski behind their boat during the demo).

We have no regrets or second thoughts! How do we love our Tige, let us count the ways...

Ditto what bneub said about the dealer relationship and treatment.

The difference between the dealers was dramatic in the selling style and the information that was given...or should I say lack of or misinformation that was provided by one particular other brand dealer. Our Tige dealer has remained engaged with us after the purchase and the whole sales cycle was pleasant, not pressure filled and very easy to work through. They encouraged the head to head demos...

What part of the country are you located in?

I had originally told myself "there's no way I'm getting an inboard... they are a joke unless ur just a hardcore wakeboarder. I can spend less money on a I/O and have a way nicer set-up". So there I started looking at Bryants and Cobalts. It was down to those two. I had been inside a centurion (kind of liked it), Mastercraft (hated it), and a BU (didn't impress me at all), and I was 100% sure I wasn't going to an Inboard. I didn't like the looks of them at all, even though I knew there were some companies that made some very good boats. Then one day I was cruising wakeworld.com and saw the Tige ad at the top of the site (I guess advertising does work). There it was, a Inboard that looked somewhat like a "traditional boat". So I started researching... w/ the expectations of being thoroughly depressed w/ the interior. Quite the opposite occured. I fell in love w/ the Mushroom interior. It had a very classy look to it. I always see people saying the BU has the Tige beat on the interior.... NO WAY... at least not IMHO. So I had it narrowed down to a Cobalt 226 and a Tige 24V. I weighed everything out and for what I was wanting and gonna be using it for, the Inboard would definately suit my purposes better and still look very classy doing it. So I chose the tige for

it's looks (I mean come on... who isn't concerned about looks )

build quality
and it's functionality

I will say this, the Centurion Enzo MIGHT have been in the running but the dealer pushed me away. He started bashing the Tige every chance he got. I mean hardcore. It pissed me off so much that I just turned around and left w/ him in mid-sentence. I tend to be one that doesn't need u to bash the other product, but let ur product do the talking.
